I’m hoping that the OP means that he won a game code to start a new account and not an active account itself. Streamers sometimes give away game codes or time as part of an incentive to watch.
that is pretty much what happened. I haven’t replied to any of this until now, because it’s not the reason I did this post. And despite winning the giveaway, I haven’t even played on it since then… I played on my main account, which I cannot do anymore…
I remember i was able to choose between EU or NA, but just so people start calling me out for breaking the rules, the giveaway was for the war within, which i still can’t believe I won to this day. And even that serves no purpouse now, because since people already confirmed, everything i collected up until today, is available to EU region only.
edit: the giveaway was for dragonflight * I am sorry for the mistake
If the prize was like…an upgrade code for Dragonflight (when it was current), that’s fine. That’s out-of-game since it’s bought with real money. As long as you applied the code to YOUR account there’s no issue with that. I’ve never seen that kind of giveaway being done, but it’s not against any rules to gift someone an expansion (as long as there’s no exchange of in-game gold or items for it).
If you didn’t learn from 6 silences and 3 suspensions to not use profanity ingame. Then your new account will suffer the same fate. Profanity isn’t allowed.
Sounds like they are doing something about fallacious reports. By your own admission. What do you propose they do other than what they are currently doing by reviewing posts that are flagged?
This has been talked about quite a bit here, esp by Vrak. Maybe you were even one of the folks who asked about it?
It only takes 3-5 flags to hide something. Abuse of the flagging system is defined as switching alts to keep flagging the same post into the ground. Targeting and flagging one person with those alts.
If people, in good faith, flag a post that is not against the rules. Even if they are wrong about the flag, they don’t get penalized. The most a flag can do is grey it out pending Mod review. It can’t cause someone to be suspended, or remove a post.
“Doing something” is to remove the flags from the post if the post was not against the rules.
So, what you want is people to be punished for being wrong in their reporting - and as Vrak said, that is not really how they do things here.
We only get 5 flags a day, and a post is hidden in 3-5 flags. So it is a self limiting issue unless people are alt hopping - which is where it gets into issues where they can be penalized.
I mean, you will get no argument from me… i stated several times that, considering the policies that are in place, this is 100% deserved…
that being said, I am still of the opinion that this is a very drastic measure, considering (as I said on my appeal ticket that was ofc denied), i never once abused any game mecanics/exploited anything in this game… I know this is not a justification for what I did, but as you can probably imagine, i am a very passionate and impulsive person. I understand that ppl that report me may not take it that way, but still…
I remember that on one of those suspensions/silences, i was not able to type in chat, or use the premade group finder. I think that, is a way more suitable/apropriate punishment for this type of infraction, but I guess there is no way for me to ask for that, instead of the permaban that was issued to me…
And they do this.
What you seem to be asking for is making all actions and reversals public when they do not need to be.
Having a post unflagged and restored is the best you are gonna get visually.
Well if you don’t like the discipline don’t do the crime. It’s like trying to avoid a speeding ticket while doing speeding. On your new account be wise and don’t break the rules and you won’t be punished.
And yet, it had no real impact on your behavior at all. Which is why the penalties get more severe. The hope being that you learn and change your behavior. Which you haven’t and probably won’t.
This one is quickly derailing, I believe it’s been covered
