Agreed, popcorn for everyone
Love watching the rules lawyers that come here.
Gah! Oh, noes! Gutted!

Woe be thine irony and self-awareness.
This thread is definitely getting nuked first thing tomorrow morning.
One of the disadvantages of not having a blue monitor the forums for the graveyard shift unfortunately.
We are players and none of us have the power to ban or suspend anyone.
That’s done by Blizzard after investigating reports.
You certainly don’t get to tell anyone if they can be offended or not, and by what.
You’ll probably find other games are a lot harsher in their penalties too.
Thank you. I for one appreciate your efforts to make this community better by pledging to remove yourself from it.
Given that Blizzard has apparently already banned your license, I bet they’re probably okay with it, too.
Your poor decisions are the only things that have victimized you.
I doubt it’s nuked. It will almost certainly be pruned, but I expect one of our SFAs will stop by to offer clarity to the OP before bidding him farewell and locking it.
If you’re trolling people while using a name against policy, you’re actively giving other players a means to retaliate. If this would push you over suspensions into account closures, that means you’ve got a history of poor behavior.
In no way is this anyone’s fault but your own.
Not offensive, inappropriate, and you know exactly why your name is inappropriate, assuming you mean this one. It’s not exactly the most obscure meme on the internet and Christmas helped give it extra buoyancy. Very much an inappropriate name for World of Warcraft. It’s an amusing reference, but it’s very, very obviously a violation and you know that.
No they don’t, because reports are looked over by a human who applies the action, there’s no automation. It’s more a matter of people are willing to look the other way and not report you for things against ToS if you’re being friendly, but very much are going to turn you in if you are not.
If for spam and a stopgap measure that is not an actual penalty and won’t last long if it’s in error.
Yeah that’s not the issue.
Doesn’t matter. Only matters if pasta is against Blizzard’s policies for WoW, because it’s not about offensive, it’s about inappropriate. If you meet a new boss at work, you’re not going to call them “dude” like a friend, that would be inappropriate, you would call them an honorific. Doesn’t mean they’re offended, just means it’s not right for the situation.
Neither do yours get to decide if someone gets to be in a battleground or not, nor do they get to decide whether or not you get to use certain words in certain situations when those situations are under private control. Freedom of speech is between you and government bodies, Blizzard is not a government body.
and nothing of value was lost
Its times like this i like to think of the butterfly effect. That girl made a joke that became a overused meme, than a terrible podcast led to abunch of people losing money in yet another crypto scam, meanwhile this person thought they were clever using a name they had to of known would get flagged and just like that we have one less troll to worry about. Funny how it all works out in the end
It is nothing about being toxic, and more of being appropriate. We all have to decide on whether the names we want are actually appropriate for the game, and follow within the policies set in place by Blizzard to help keep the game clean and friendly.
No, but you being toxic here on the forums and trolling the forums isn’t going to make the game any better too.
Like, seriously. I’ve posted on what to do earlier in this thread, right here. But instead, you’ve chosen to come to the Customer Support forums, and start trolling. Why do you think Blizzard has these policies in place? Why is being toxic and inappropriate in any games is unhealthy for the games? If you want to do this, well, you’ll have no one else to blame but yourself. But remember, each action you do, is by your own accord. Nobody else is responsible for your own actions, and each action does have consequences to it.
You break the policies set in place that you’ve agreed too, then you will be dealt with appropriately to those actions. And before you ask, you should be thankful that only your game license is closed, and not your entire BNet account. Most game companies would go even as far as a hardware ban for lesser policies breached.
The truly sad part is all you had to do is not have a juvenile name and not treat every game of random bgs like your a professional gamer(i assure you you’re not) and yet you couldn’t even manage that much than complain that everyone else is the problem
This is like getting fired from a job, and justifying it with “you can’t fire me, I quit”.
Blizzard is done with YOU and YOUR toxicity. All this moaning about “what about others” is irrelevant. Fine, report everyone’s name on this thread. It doesn’t change that YOU had a highly inappropriate name, and YOU chose to be toxic.
Addition by subtraction, based on their behavior in this thread.
not one reply from anyone who pvps.
its a different game than the one you play. im not fighting npcs in scripted encounters. i don’t get to wipe to reset hero.
different game modes should have different rules. sometimes people need to be told they’re doing it wrong and i shouldn’t have to be nice about it.
Simply put: This is Blizzard’s game and their rules. There isn’t going to be any special rules because someone want to be toxic because they feel entitled to it.
But seeing as this is totally unrelated to your naming related action, this is a moot point.
Plenty of us have done pvp, yet that should not have anything to do with bad name choices or use of foul language
Does it really matter? Honestly?
Who made you the be-all end-all of it though?
Sure, it’s good to offer guidance. It can be done nicely.
Thankfully Blizzard will never agree with you on that. Ever.
It is nobody elses fault that you are unable to communicate in a decent manner without resorting to bullying, insults, profanity etc etc.
You really are deflecting awfully hard though.
And? Rules are rules; it doesn’t matter if you’re a PvPer or not. Naming rules and chat rules are the same across the board. Besides - not everyone on the forums use their main (or most active account).
If you’d like to see a change there, you’ll need to post (constructively) in the PvP forums or General. The development team does not gather feedback from this forum, and the Support staff (blues here) do not liaise with them.
You’re right. But consider this: if you told someone in the real world they’re doing something wrong (at work, at the bar, at a restaurant, etc.) the way you’re communicating here, you’re going to have a bad time.
