I mean only hunters have an excuse for being slow at this point.
They shouldn’t suck at the role so much then
This whole topic is prtty much about why people have difficulty keeping up with tanks. I was just trying to redirect to that topic is all.
Have you ever tried keeping up with a high mobility tank on a class with poor mobility?
Demon Hunter is at the next boss before I’ve even made it 15 yards.
What you disagreed with was not an opinion. I extend the same offer to you that I did Aliandrin; if you want to test this, we can. It’s very easy to test, we go into a dungeon, you’ll pull the mobs by walking through them, and I’ll follow behind standing inside the conga line of mobs to show it will never aggro to me, no matter what movement skills you use to get away.
That is why people refuse to tank, even the quality ones. It takes the patience of a saint to tolerate the mountain sized ignorance from DPS. As someone who mained a healer, and has done dps, I can say dps usually are potatoes. It has nothing to do with the tanks “skill” and everything to do with the lack of ability and sense of the dps.
“Good tank”, “mounts up”, and “big pulls” don’t belong in the same sentence. It might fly in normal and heroic dungeons, but it ain’t happening in M+ unless you’re a paladin on a horse dropping consecrate to establish light aggro as you dash ahead.
But you do you in normals and heroics where wipes only happen if the healer gets CC’d to hell and back by silences, knockbacks, and other such garbage.
is there a way to ignore someone on the forums?
Yes, i position near the tank and even a little ahead to keep that downtime as low as possible when im on my dps classes.
Even then, thats more time for you to wait for the tank to gather all the bad guys to avoid pulling aggro.
It absolutely is happening in m+.
Have you ran m+?
Like, at all?
Al’gethar academy says hello.
As someone who has done every mage tower and hit 2100 pvp as a healer.
I question your use of the word quality. Negative reinforcement is a better treacher then positive
That’s not how threat works lol. If you are getting “proximity aggro,” that only means you aren’t following the tank and are face pulling extra garbage. If you get any other aggro, it means you are doing actions that would cause mobs to engage you instead.
If you aren’t doing anything but following the tank, like literally just following the tank, you are failing lol.
Click my portrait - click the dropdown that says “Normal” and move it to Ignored.
awesome. thanks for being helpful
Bravo, and PvP is based on PvE and I’ve raided much higher and gone up to 1800 in pvp.
I question your capacity to play the game at this rate.
Negative reinforcement isn’t a positive teacher as it has more negative consequences. If it were a positive one, you’d think all the kids who had abusive fathers wouldn’t be in prison.
okay, can’t say i have experienced that at all, guess i am just super lucky
right, but this isn’t a dungeon-specific “strat”. it’s just how to play. it works for me as a healer even my very first time in a dungeon. it’s a basic skill with simple rules that will keep you alive much longer in any dungeon. people refusing to do it because “tanks go too fast” are just being stubborn.
Thats exactly how it works in m+, only difference is the people know how to deal with it and hold their CDs
I can keep up with most tanks but on my Arcane Mage “mobility” consists of 2 Shimmer charges regenerates 1 charge every 21 seconds.
If a Demon Hunter is full on “gotta go fast” mode they’ll leave me in the dust and there is pretty much nothing I can do about it.
Ive been ce two dozen times. Ive hit elite. Ive done mage towers.
One of the biggest hindrances to new players is no one tells them to get good anymore. If you suck it isnt polite to just let it continue forever
Mount up, follow along, wait for everything to gather and blast.
