People seem to love to insult the lead narrative designer

Metzen has some bad ones like warlords of draenor.

You misspelled subjectively, opinions aren’t facts.

So melodramatic. They’ve been changing the lore since the start. Nothing is "destroyed " because they’ll just change it again when it suits them.

Some of the story in this game are bad but some are good and some are decent. And if you think this whole game has terrible writing across the board then why even care about the story than if it’s so bad and why even take your time to come on here and further comment on it since you already took the time to comment about it in the first place.

to 2 bad expansions and without being victims of the convenience of the decisions? I think it is too much not to be enough to blame Melzten.

Remember what you said, Danuser has 2 bad expansions to Melzten’s 1, and that WoD is a victim of consequences of ActiBlizz’s decisions and their retcons.

Alex controlled legion and BFA and early decision of shadowlands and shadowlands was given to steve and shadowlands isn’t his ENTIRELY.

but there was Danuser, and don’t forget that Christe Golden and Copeland think they have more to give money to their books than the quality of lore where it belongs in video games, when in reality they only earn a few cents from bad books while others download for free by pdf.

And don’t forget that Legion’s success is ultimately contributing to Melzten’s development, not Danuser’s.

Sure blame activision when blizzard entertainment is making world of Warcraft. When I log in I don’t see actiblizz but only blizzard entertainment.

becuase it will always be Blizzard, it will not say Actibliz, but from Bobgoblin’s clutches it has grabbed all the companies with their franchises by making an annual Call of Duty in the WoW expansions instead of only lasting about 2 years of expansion.

That is why little under Blizzard’s quality not because of melzten but because of Danuser himself and the decisions that Activision made with its allied companies.

That’s because legion was the final goodbye to those former devs before Alex assume control to everything else. Remember what ion said

When legion shipped Alex was already working on BFA and when BFA shipped Alex planned shadowlands before he was terminated.

I could write a better story.

Where have you actually been since SL went live? Have you somehow just not noticed all the people who normally don’t even care enough to comment on the story at all suddenly started coming forth to voice their sincere grievances with it? Melodrama is the new norm.

This is a half truth.

While I’ll absolutely agree that ‘lore’ is dynamic with blizz and adjusts according to whatever they need it to be in order to fit whatever ridiculous new direction they’re trying to force things to go in, the entirety of WoW’s story to date is ashes.

The only way forward is numbly, in the same manner one awakens from a fatiguing night of fitful dreaming and stumbles their way to the coffee maker to try and start a new day.

Oh so you think everything falls on Danuser when he wasn’t the one who did BFA or planned for shadowlands but sure blame him and not Alex.

Regardless of who is at fault with Shadowlands, there’s no scapegoat for DF and DF is bad too. There’s no escape for Danuser here.

But nothing to do with Alex, they only look for his evil token like the right-wing and wokenism with the forbiden name Trump.

Everything blames Alex, the only bad thing is that he was an idiot who does not know how to shut up a woke feminist anti Victoria Secret and makes teen jokes when there was another way to make fun of that crazy woman.

here is more lore, retcons, more retcons, robots, titans on top of titans, books that do not exist in view of the video game, agenda forced by California politics, Pelagos, Zooval, and other final villains where you parodies everything from LotR, everything it shows the lack of originality of Danuser.

Now do you agree that Dragonflight will change WoW? with deaf Centaurs it doesn’t help anything but it is enough to show the quality of the new expansions.

Say whatever you want but I bet people will change their tune when dragonflight launches.

I’ve seen fanfiction on ao3 that makes whatever they were doing during BFA and Shadowlands look like it was written by a 2 year old.

Many people have shown they can write the lore better.

Even without actually changing the lore. The way they’re delivering it is part of the problem. There’s only a few things actually wrong with the lore we were given in BFA/SL. However, their approach for delivering it made it come off even worse.

So? Just because I’m not a grocher doesn’t mean I can’t tell a bad apple when i see one…this is a logical fallacy.

And so far early reaction to the story seems to be decent to good with no one complaining or even bashing it.

You can criticize a bad meal without being a 5 star chef in the same way you can criticize a story without being Stephen King, and in the same way you don’t need to be no MLG Dorito mountain dew drinking 360 noscope no-lifer neckbeard in order to see that Ride To Hell is humanity’s worst creation next to Nuclear bombs.

It’s foolish to think that you have to qualify in order to say something is bad, and yet hypocritically never hold the same standard in order to say something is good. (Which that also reveals your bias)

Not that only seeking positive feedback and discrediting negative feedback is biased anyways. I’m pretty sure there’s a 2 word phrase that sums up what you want, but i digress.

Well were in Beta right now so chances are, we might have a good story on our hands depending on what is reported.

Overall plot? I can’t hold my breath on. Short stories? Maybe. I mean they have a higher batting average with shorter self contained stories really. I think where you’re getting the idea of why people call Steve Danuser a bad lead narrative designer is because… well he isn’t good writing overall expansion plots… which is important?.. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

He can make all the wonderful and amazing short stories all he wants, but it wouldn’t exactly help or help much to fix the main glaring problem that being the overall plot that not only blankets the entire setting were in, but is the reason why were in this setting, and why these short stories exist at all.

How can you know it’s going to be better or equally as good as Wrath, Warcraft 3, or so on, without going though it (yet?).
