LFR isn’t worth doing tbh. Especially now when you can get the story from their story mode version and get better gear via delves.
Dealing with LFR BS is something I haven’t missed at all since I stopped bothering with it.

Delves are very meh to me. Once I got geared on my main I had no interest in doing them on alts.
Isnt story mode just the last boss? I like killing bosses but dont really have time to do a full raid all at once, or my gear is too low to get accepted.
I dont care much for wows story. I mostly go to get a change at basic gear and ultimately fill a row of my vault for easy 3k gold for each character. I know 3k isnt much these days but its just what I prefer to do. Even with buttholes needing on stuff they dont need its more fun to kill a boss than farm herbs or something.
That may be, but they drop a whole lot more gear per person than LFR does (guaranteed 1 item if you use a key), compared to the 1 item per 5 players you get from LFR.
In doing the math, 2 delves has a higher expected value in terms of quantity of items than a full clear of LFR does.
Nah, you get Crests and Tier Tokens. Besides, it a good training ground for rotation practice and laughing at the people who die in the first ten seconds and expect gear afterwards, lol.
I suppose thats true. What tier delve would have to be ran to get LFR level gear? I always think 8’s because thats what awards hero track and what I always ran on my main.
Vault: 1-3, End of Delve: 5-6.
I have a “/say lol” macro I click pretty much every pull when inevitably half the group fails the first mechanic. Luckily its LFR so its never a danger.
I might consider them again. Those I probably could fly through. I still think they would be less fun though so its sort of a wash
Dear lord, not the law of averages nonsense again.
With the changes blizzard’s been making, Raiding (of any variety) hasn’t been a good primary gear source since WoD, simply because every new pillar they add gives you a whole lot more gear.
They do have this. It’s the “xmog roll” button.
The problem is that in a purely anonymous environment (pugs, LFR), no one is gonna press that button if “NEED” is also an option.
THAT is the real problem here.
If I have a 636 crafted weapon, then why is the “need” option showing up for a LFR weapon??
But I gots news for you: I’m gonna hit “need” … only because that’s what everyone else is going to do.
Bottom line here shouldn’t be to attack each other as fellow players … but to SERIOUSLY question Blizzard and to hold their feet to the fire as to WHY IS XMOG SO HARD TO COLLECT IN THE FIRST PLACE???
It does nothing. It encourages interaction with the game. Let players have a SOLID path forward to collecting xmog. All these hoops we have to jump through … none of them bring anything of value to the game as a whole.
If I participated the kill, why is your claim on the spoils worth any more than mine?
Isn’t that what people want, everyone to have an equal chance at loot?
Best way to get players who you deem unworthy of gear out of your group is to unlock lower difficulty appearances with a higher item. That way we don’t feel like we have to do it for LFR, and you get low geared players who will win it over you anyway.
I was being rhetorical.
Because afaik, that’s BLIZZARD’S policy. That if you have a “better” item, it locks you out of the “need” roll.
Except, in many cases, it doesn’t. And there doesn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason to it.
Maybe I just don’t pay much attention to it since I don’t LFR anymore. My guild actually DOES use the xmog roll. lol We have very active conversations about who can use loot more when stuff drops. People don’t just take whatever they win. We actually spend an inordinate amount of time after new boss kills sorting through “no no no … you take it, it’s better for you!!!” lol
TBH, this could be solved with a more nuanced system. Maybe, for every Greed you roll, you get +2 to your next Need roll. That would encourage people rolling Greed and saving their Need roll only for items they want.
That would be awesome. I run so much LFR just for Xmog… and I have to do it over and over again because I rarely get the chance to roll need unless I literally sell my gear to the vendor before the encounter (and buy it back after).
He was there for the kill too he has the same right to the gear as you. You dont like it join a guild
That’s not how it worked in DF either. It was that you couldn’t roll on the SAME item of a lower ilvl and even then there were exceptions if it had a socket or a bonus stat. In this case the roll wouldn’t have applied as they had a crafted weapon.
Yeah, the option that is basically an auto lose? They could solve that issue by making the transmog auto unlock when you have a higher tier or just make it so if you select the mog option, there are no rolls you just get the mog and the item continues on to need rolls.
They created this situation and the mog roll option is not a solution to it.
You’re not the arbiter of what people need. Also, what were you running where a 3dtar crafted weapon was “much lower”? Unless yoi were in LFR that’s simply impossible.
Because your need doesnt trump their need.
Or he wanted the item just like you did.
