People leaving M+ runs needs to seriously be addressed

My point is that some people pug everything but only occasionally experience leavers, while others say it happens to them a lot. A big part of the difference is that second person either doesn’t screen their applicants as well, or they are the type of personality that people would rather walk out on after they’ve been on the receiving end of their rage.

I can’t leave? Ok, stand in the mechanics and be dead I guess :dracthyr_shrug:

You guys think you’re gonna win this?

Like the “healer” who’s dpsing and not healing at all, then complaining about wipes.
Along with the “oh I didn’t sign up as heals” yes… yes you did. That’s the little + by your name.

Then these people will just stand there, do nothing and hold the whole group hostage - nothing will actually change - its frustrating but there isnt anything you can realistically do.

The worse are when it wont time but you are at the end boss or one pull from the end boss like sure it wont time but at that point who cares just finish the run, its like 3 or 4 more minutes.

personally, i believe there really are no flaws in the mythic plus system… the flaws, as you perceive them, are flaws in the pugging system.

you can easily fix that by not pugging.

if you choose to pug when you don’t have to pug, then you are consenting to being exposed to people choosing to leave your groups.

so the way that you fix this issue is just find a group to do keys with and don’t pug anymore.

as far as im concerned, i would rather people be able to leave keys for any reason instead of people being forced to sit in a key when they are being harrassed simply because they are afraid of being punished - THIS IS NOT HEALTHY FOR THE GAME NOR IS IT HEALTHY FOR THE PLAYERS.

Can’t say I’ve had that happen specifically, but yeah. That sounds like a run set up for failure.

As someone who has pugged 90% of my keys… yes.

I’ve got 3 healers at 2.5k+ this season and several other alts ranging between 1k to 2.2k, all from pugging. That represents A LOT of keys run lol.

In all of those keys, the only times I’ve seen people leave (outside of a few DC’s typically from OCE servers) have been when the groups are pretty bad. And usually when a group is bad it boils down to;

  1. A key position (tank or healer) blowing it. (Tank over pulling, doesn’t know the routes, healer can’t keep up with damage, etc.)
  2. one of the DPS is pulling either intentionally or not making the run a severe pain.
  3. The DPS is just plain too low.
  4. DPS taking way too much avoidable damage, don’t know mechanics, etc.

If you are seeing people consistently drop from groups you are in, which of the above best describes your group?

If there was a a higher button than “like” on this post…I’d hit it. you’ve hit the nail on the head.

I’m at 2501 on BM and 2504 on ProtWarrior; I got it ALL from pugging. The only “Carrying” that was possibly done with me as a tank is when the DPS I get pugged with all do WTF they SHOULD be doing and mobs are dying faster than I typically see. THAT is when I feel carried.
Mostly, I never feel carried b/c I’m doing all the work (Rotating all my stuns on mobs so they can’t cast jack crap) and yelling @ ranged to interrupt the free caster standing in Narnia that everyone is ignoring
Most of hte time as a tank, I feel like I have to do SO much work that “being carried” insn’t something I ever feel happens enough for me to be worried that it’s happening.

No, this is a terrible idea.

The kinds of groups people leave are already falling apart. Why force people to complete the key when it’s much more efficient to just end it and start a new one?

If you think someone shouldn’t have left, you can add them to ignore and choose not to play with them again.

If you force people to stay in the key, they’re just going to afk until the vote to end it goes through and waste more of everyone’s time.

Agreed. If people leaving your keys is common, you might be to blame yourself.

tell yourself people going offline ditch the game for m+

false. great idea, if they are penalizing ppl for leaving shuffle, they should do the same for m+. it ruins players experiences

Or they’re the ones frequently causing problems in their runs and instead of improving, they would rather blame other players for not wanting to play with them.

In shuffle, you lose rating if you lose. In m+, you don’t. You can just go right into another key.

I posted something very similar to this months ago and got flagged for being inappropriate. Simply giving someone a -5 pt rating if you quit is sufficient.

The main reason I see groups fall apart is because people try to jump into higher keys than they should be in. I think most of these posts about M+ leavers come from 430 ilvl players with 2K IO’s trying to get into 20’s. When they finally get into a 20 with similarly geared players, the group falls apart. Too many players try to skip past the 14-18 levels.

Yup, that would be groups 1 and 3. (Healer can’t keep up with the damage, and DPS just plain too low.)

The only skipping I do is early season low keys, like I start in high single digits to low double in season 2 and up, but I try to time a key at a certain level with the main affix (Tyr/fort) before moving up to the next of that dungeon, that affix.

The bad players ruined player experienced. If we get rid of the bad players then we won’t have as much issue with leavers

I think for consistent M+ runners that’s always going to be a thing. The low keys are just no challenge to them.

I will go into lower keys towards the end of the season to help lowbies since it’s a great way to meet new people.
That and I just like to show off…is that so bad? LOL
