People leaving M+ runs needs to seriously be addressed

Punishing players for leaving isnā€™t the way to go so here is your solution that I know most people here will be stupid and delusional about: remove the timer. Problem solved. No one is obligated to waste their time on a bricked key or with people who clearly arenā€™t going to wake up and start magically becoming good in the 2nd half of the dungeon or something, removing the timer negates half the problems, accept reality here.

iā€™m not sure how they could reward that kinda stuff without more or less ruining the whole point of m+ i guess? Like yes theres dumb things to do but i do think at the end of the day the main distinction should be whether you timed the key or not. To rate heavily on anything else would result in system gaming.

If itā€™s a crapshoot from the start w/ or w/o timer people will leave. I, personally wont stay on a dungeon that I know would only be 30mins long thatā€™ll last 1hr+ because of wipes.

And I know wipe happens but there is normal wipes and thereā€™s stupid wipes. People who run alot of dungeon know the difference.

That is largely where carried players come in. In most cases they have no idea what to do or what they should be doing.

for real. every dg iā€™ve felt in my gut where its gonna suck iā€™ve always been right. Turns out the people who wipe on every pull are going to keep dying to everything and its in your interest to just leave because they refuse to learn.

which is why I said the issue w/ the dungeons right now isnā€™t the leavers but the people in the dungeon who doesnā€™t know how it works and refuse to learn

Even so, removing the timer and at least letting people get their gear isnā€™t exactly a bad thing, otherwise, why stay? No one would, of course.

Yea mostly for me the 1st pull says it all. I could already tell itā€™s going to be that kind of run from the 1st pull.

You can always minimize the UI and not see the timer  problem solved

People who see the timer and see that it will fail are guaranteed to almost always leave though. Thatā€™s why itā€™s a problem. The timer adds nothing of value to the gearing process in any capacity, it needs to go so people can just chill and have fun.

iā€™ve seen things go hecky on the first pull or two as every role and yeah, iā€™ve gotten that spidey sense that tells me whether it was a goof or thats just how the run will go. every time iā€™ve ignored said spidey sense its been an hour long wipefest.

Youā€™re aware that most leavers happens at the start of the dungeon w/ 25-30mins still in the time right?

Then make a chill completion run.

Yea generally for the 1st couple of weeks I dont mind those 1hr+ run because after all people are still learning. But 2 months in and people still making the same mistakes shows who are not learning at all

i think thats what it comes down to. i donā€™t mind helping people learn dgs. but at the same time if you need to be taught every mechanic in a +15 because you didnā€™t bother to learn anything beforehand its not hard to dip because you donā€™t wanna hand hold someone through a dg where its assumed everyone has at least a decent grasp of mechanics

I mean thereā€™s mechanics that needs to be taught which is fine and thereā€™s ā€œa dragon is about to blew stuff infront of you so you better move outā€ mechanics.

Also man season 3 AD. Whatā€™s the bet that volcal will be the pug killer there coz people dont know how to kill all 3 totem at the same time

Yes, many, many, many times before.

Thank you for adding to the number as it approaches infinity.

What I would propose is that you form a group of people you know you can trust to do certain things, and play with them. Whether it be a community, a group of people you just know or a guild party. Which is basically how it was intended to work best.

However, it seems they are aware of player concerns, going by this:

iirc back in bfa the real pug destroyer was the priestess because so many people wouldnā€™t bloodinate themselves but ad was one of the free keys along with freehold. so who knows, maybe ataldazar will be the new shrine of the storms of this season due to having two bosses that require 2 brain cells.

Youā€™re never going to get anywhere by ā€œpunishingā€ leavers. See: BG AFKs and bots. What you should be focusing on is how to prevent leavers from hurting others.

You can also out-range it.
