Maybe you should look at the scores and histories of the people you are either inviting to join a key or who are in the group you are joining. There is plenty of time to do some basic research if you care that much before they put the key in. If you are that concerned about your time being wasted, you should have made sure that the tank has tanked content similar to a 15 before.
However I am someone who thinks that the new report features for intentionally feeding and delaying progress should be usable for key leavers. I am not sure exactly which one that should fall in yet, but I think the report system should be a behind the scenes process and only after investigation should the player have some sort of penalty. I’ve been doing keys for a while and I’ve invited people to my group in the past who had an appropriate IO history and acceptable score, etc. I did my research but yet I get someone who burns a key bc they’re obsessed with only on time keys. A good example is a few of my Shrine of the Storm keys in BfA. I had a group where we lost our 5th member to IRL commitments and we frequently had to pug the last dps spot. The key is going well and we’re on par to two chest it, but then the pug in the group pulls extra trash and wipes us on the final bridge in Shrine of the Storm during an invis skip (or pulls extra trash in the area after the 2nd boss, there were a few pain points later in that dungeon). And the same person who pulled the extra mobs that wiped us and put the timer in jeopardy declares that they aren’t wasting their time finishing it bc they won’t get score. I had a tank in AD who took the most complicated path for our comp bc that’s the one he knew on an 18 up and leave when the timer ran out as we got to the last boss. When he shared the MDT route for the run, we even said it will be difficult to time and he acknowledged it but said he didn’t feel comfortable with the other ways we suggested.
I have no problem with people leaving when the timer is spent. I have no problem if you’ve wiped on the first boss or the trash around the first boss for over 50% of the key time if people leave. I have an issue with people who leave when there is one boss left and there is time still available, or who contributed to missing time and can’t finish out the key.
O yes, because it wouldn’t be easy for four people to get together and just farm keys and troll people.
I can literally name 8 people I know personally in game that are disgusting enough to do it.
Such a bad idea
You can have a tally of dungeons left when the rest of us get a tally of how many avoidable mechanics you have failed and how often it was your fault the key was ruined. Fair enough. If you get to put a note, so do the ones who left. No subjective stuff tho–implement a system that shows the entire picture. The people who have this problem occur more than rarely are likely NOT the ones who would like my suggestion. Seems fair to me tho?
4 members of the group to approve a message onto a player.
i.e. guild groups trolling their one random because it can’t be their fault the key failed.
No way Jose, WOW has a very active pug life, but it also has a code of conduct (ya know that thing you agreed to and didn’t read). I agree with the poster, this should be against the rules.
I signed on for a key this morning. Tank charges in, doesn’t care about the affixes, pulls all three packs at the get-go, healer dies, 2 dps die, I brez the healer … next pack tank goes balls deep again. Healer dies, I brez, healer dies again, we all die … 8 deaths before the first boss. I bailed.
Why should I stay in a key and subject myself to that kind of time wastefulness. I owe nothing to a key holder who puts together an ineffective group, a tank that ignores affixes, or a healer that can’t stay alive.
Sorry. I value my time more than struggling for an hour and a half in a key that’s only supposed to take 30-45 min.
You want a random group of 4 people to be coordinated enough to log into a website and leave a note? That’s like asking a class of kindergarteners to sync up backflips. Absolutely impossible.
99% of notes would be this.
What a dumb idea.
I think the only thing that could work is having them x amount of their m+ score if they leave.
This key is bricked, lets all afk until the pug leaves first.
There I just abused your solution.
The system is working as intended, some people rarely have issues with it while others seem to suffer from it daily.
It’s a player problem.
That sounds exactly like what FFXIV does with its commendations system - and it suffers the same problem - tanks and healers get most of the commendations, dps barely ever get any.

Everyone’s line is in a different place for that which is why communication within the group before the key starts is people’s best bet. Will there be se people who lie about it to start the key or deliberately troll? Of course but idk if I have encounter any on my time pugging so my gut feel is that it’s a pretty small percentage. Certainly smaller than the amount of innocents that would get incorrectly caught in any system I have seen suggested.
I agree with everyone else here that se people can be total… Let’s go with egg plants… But where I disagree is I think that punishing innocent people aswel as the eggplants is unacceptable.
If anything is done it should probably be along the lines of blizzard tracking percentage completed. The difference between the players that routinely leave and those that don’t will become apparent pretty quickly. If you have one tank with better stats that only completes 60% of the keys they start and another that completes 90%, you’ll be able to tell what’s up.
Bro you can’t just brutally murder OP in broad daylight like this.

If we’re being modern, Elden Ring is the new hotness.
Great game tho.

Yeah, I’ve yet to see any game where a commendation system actually works. Worst case you end up like OW or FF where it basically becomes roll dependent and a “thanks for playing tank/healer” button, best case it ends up like League where it’s background noise that the really problematic players don’t care about because they go through like 3-4 accounts a year, so why care about losing end-of-season rewards?
True! The problem is these things have to escalate and then they send in a team in with a mack truck approach. That tends to do more damage. The easy solution is lower the score. If it is too low and the gear they have needs to be higher have it so they can not equip. well, time will tell. Master loot took a long time to get fixed and we see how that worked out in the end.
This is why I don’t pug Mythic+ for any reason. I don’t care if I fall behind on gear, I just won’t do it unless it’s with people I know, or the people those people know.
oh bohoohoo spare me the sob story. People who wants to learn will learn. Problem is too many people expecting a carry from people who took time learning and cry and whine when they’ve been refused to do so. It’s not our job to teach you. You have just as much available learning material out there that we have.
People leaving keys is not an issue. People don’t owe you their time.
