Its kinda like if you went to an NBA game and instead of playing the game they just had every single person who paid for a ticket walk up and “dunk” on a 4 foot goal and then receive a “NBA Champton” ring.
It’s honestly pretty condescending to the people who actually wanted to see or do something fun and it makes trying to actually be good at or play the actual game seem pretty pointless.
You probably have some kind of point. But at the same time it isn’t a debate of which kind of person is right and wrong. But rather a business descion for blizzard.
Taking away world content rewards would make raiders feel more accomplished if they saw noobies running around in blues. But that’s it I think. You have to think about new players. Players on alts. Players that just aren’t that good. Players who find enjoyment in other things like professions.
Yes even the players who want to do regular bgs and lfr(there are probably a lot of players like this)
Your view is narrow. Most players in game have agendas not remotely similar to yours. You are on the forums right now complaining about players getting 370 gear. While there is someone in the game right now who just got their 100th anchor weed of the day and is more excited than you downing heroic ghuun. It’s all perspective.
That pleasant person happy about the 100 anchor weed, ya I don’t mind if they have 370 gear from a warfront to defend them selves from some savage that might come across them like in the world although it wouldn’t help them much. Atleast they acould have had a fighting chance.
Would this be like when they had PvP servers and PvE servers?
Seems like that didn’t go over very well. But they did solve that by just letting people set their character to whatever they want such that it didn’t interfere with the other payers.
See, now THAT’S a great idea.
I fully support you setting your experience to whatever you want it to be… and not bothering me while you do it.
Someone get this person some sliders, some settings, some configurations, it’s time to crank it down to classic and really get… ohh! is that a glowing chest? Hey gear! Sweet!
Well, that’s not helping anything, is it? Since now people like me who DO go look for guides aren’t going to have any to look at.
I would hazard the real thing players can do is start pointing people to some of the guides. It’s possible the other person hasn’t heard of Icy Veins. It’s possible they don’t know where the Discord groups are for their class. This is not a Blizzard problem, it’s a player communication problem.
Though you do have to keep in mind that there are some people who are never going to be able to play high end content for various reasons. Over the years, I’ve played with/helped a lot of people some who were just starting… several who were legit mentally impaired and needed help figuring things out… two people who were handicapped and only had one arm.
Everyone should please stop for a moment and consider how it would effect your leet gameplay if you only had one arm.
Now everyone can consider helping other players once in a while instead of just kvetching they’re not at the top of the meter.
The OP is voicing, in their own way, what I’ve felt for some time. In an effort to appeal to people with limited time and narrow fields of interest that almost always demand a form of instant gratification, they have taken out much of the challenge-and-reward systems previously put into the game.
Take a look at the one example of this from recent times - the Mage Tower. I never personally completed any of the Mage Tower challenges, because I’m just not able to do that sort of high intensity gaming. But in NO way do I think it should be made easier. If anything, I think we need more of that sort of challenging content because it rewards those who put in the effort and have the skill to achieve it.
When something is gained too easily, it is valued too little. And when they continue to feed stuff to us that requires little effort, players come to expect it, to see it as the norm. Give us things like solo Island Expeditions, with some Islands harder than others with commensurate rewards for successful completion, with challenges and random hidden items. Make available activities that are not essential to the game but that give a player a choice, something to really get their teeth into.
I don’t say take away the easy stuff, but put back some of the harder stuff for those who look for it in the game.
