People don't bother learning how to play anymore

Guides.

Those of us who started early in this game didn’t use guides. We figured stuff out, sometimes with laughable slowness. Frankly that was part of what made WoW fun.

Adventurers don’t have guidebooks.

I frankly loathe the whole “You must watch videos before you experience the instance” crap. It’s like reading ahead, or looking up spoilers on the internet for a show you are watching. We are supposed to be heroes encountering new dangers, not worker bees following instructions handed to us.

I think guides and videos wreck the MMORPG experience.

My autistic step-son would always buy a game guide and read it prior to playing a PS2 game and I thought that was because his autism kept him from enjoying discovery as part of the gaming experience. But it seems like a lot of you feel that knowing stuff ahead of time is absolutely necessary.

What if it wasn’t? What if you had to go into a raid cold with your guild and just think it through?

Which is true (they hate the truth), but players are now entitled to everything there is to achieve nowadays, and want to skip as much as they can to get to the end product.

This might amaze you but video games, like everything you will experience while you are alive, are real things. The video game isn’t imaginary. Your real life preference to be over rewarded and to take handouts is how you are in real life. You are not pretending or roleplaying to want that. That is you.

Stop trolling, I feel bad if you actually believe the non sense you are spewing now.

LFR does drop 380+? I’ve been playing the wrong game or something? you mean Titanforged? LFR base ilvl is 340+

You are not going to get fully 380+ just from LFR.

What is your point?

Well I think the game need something for everyone…

I don’t know, Warfronts are very deliberate.

I agree with some portions of what you say, and disagree with others. The game does give out rewards too easily. However, did you ever tell Nintendo that Super Mario Bros was too hard? Or Sega that you can’t win in Sonic? No. You said, “Meh, that game isn’t for me” and moved on.

Blizzard has become this sub hungry monster that is desperately trying to attract, and then keep, as many players as it possibly can. They are doing this by lowering the bar over and over and over and over, expansion after expansion after expansion until… The game everyone wanted to play isn’t there anymore.

So, again, with some of what you say, I agree. But saying that the OP is wrong because he points out a very valid point that making the game too easy for all rewards is killing the game isn’t one. Blizzard needs to realize that not all rewards need to be gear rewards.

And not all rewards need to be massive rewards. Cosmetics, pets, mounts, progression toward any of those in some manner, unlocking access to the next step in a chain (like the secret quests), gold, resources, mats, etc. It doesn’t HAVE to be gear. And really, in most cases it shouldn’t. Gear rewards are way too prevalent now.

It’s that’s what Real Id friends/Guilds are for.

But why should I care about what the pet battler guy is wearing? or how good he is at the game?

The game has transformed from being a mountain into a plateau.

Instead of looking up and striving to reach the summit you are now looking across a flat field seeing how far you can walk.

I still haven’t reached the top of Mount Cortis on my demon hunter.

Are you for real right now?

My god, every single game to have ever been made has a skill floor and a skill ceiling. Are you seriously whining about the concept of self improvement?

If some idiot plays Chess and eats all the pieces, he’s not doing it right, is he?

Give me a break.

The only games where you dont have to improve yourself is IdleHeroes and Candy Crush.

That’s not true, you can improve yourself via Candy Crush by deleting it.

Thank you for a good laugh.

When I see these sorts of posts I often wonder, would it be enough if the game has setting such that you could set it the way you want? So, you could have the experience you seem to be advocating.

OR

Do you really just want everyone else to play the game your way?

I find all too often that these posts are not about the way you want to play but rather about the correct way to play in general, for everyone, always and forever.

If you want to be able to turn map indicators off, turn quest object outlines off, tune down loot drops, and whatever else gives you that “I’m so skillful” feeling. I say go for it. Campaign for it. Make your case.

If your goal is to wreck everyone else’s experience and substitute it with your own, well… I think we all know where that can go.

Who does? pretty sure any old school player that been playing this game since Wotlk or even MOP shouldn’t look at any Guide.

This is an MMO - You get to choose your path. either by playing it Casually or Hardcore. or even Afking.

If he doesn’t play it the way you do, and you see it as a problem - then it’s a YOU issue not the game.

Maybe they should make EASY SERVERS And Hard Servers Problem solved.

First of all, it’s either a player issue or a game issue, there’s no middle ground, here.

Second of all, it’s an MMO, some people are better at it than others. The difference is that the bad players can get rewards equal to the good ones now.

Are you actually going to defend the person who said self improvement was being elitist? What a joke.

Or stop making it a people problem, figure the hell out what you want and make a normal comparison. Comparing things with LFR and using LFR as your core argument makes it hard for people to take you seriously.
