Blizzard had no shortage of feedback that it was an awful way to implement it but they didn’t listen so have no one to blame but themselves
Although the fact THIS is the last straw for some people apparently like seriously?

Numbers, please. Literal numbers, please.
If you think Skyriding has poor control, I got news for ya. Its not the flying that’s the problem lmao.
Current gear was never meta afaik since you scale down. Trinkets just make a difference. Its just neutral.
I’ve done a few MT, and it hasnt been any different so far.
Careful, people are scared of choosing things.
Only if your incapable and low effort is it a terrible change. To 99% of the rest of us, it is amazing. Nothing like hopping on the headless horseman mount and flying around at warp speed.
Anytime wow makes a change people threaten to quit, it’s a tale as old as time
The real reasons for unsubbing are very different. In any case WOW is loosing players.
It is; it’s the reaction of children when told they can’t have dessert. And what’s even funnier is that they aren’t unsubscribing as they’re addicted to this game and cannot quit which is another cause for their insane and childish behaviors.
GDC presented otherwise: four and a half million before Dragonflight to seven and a quarter million this year is almost a three million gain, and that was only counting subscriptions so no idea on those who pay their monthly fees using in-game gold.
Isn’t there just a button to switch to normal flying?
5 second cast, that turns into a 6.5 Second cast to mount up. (add the 1.5 mount cast). pretty bad imo
“I read a thing on social media and that means it has to be true!”
Folks aren’t overreacting, folks are looking for forum brownie points from other forum trolls. That’s literally all there is to it.
Considering that Skyriding is the default presumptive method of flying, and TBC is simply kept around as an accessibility option … Folks who do “hybrid” flying aren’t really playing the game how it is intended. And most who used that method basically used Skyriding because it is better, but then switched to TBC flying whenever they wanted to make use of how broken it is.
This is gonna be my answer for a little while for most of these posts because… we have known about this for months. The change was coming to have the least amount of negative impact on those who need it, and to still offer a choice for those who wanted it, and to steer away from “hybrid” users who were for all intents and purposes just using Skyriding and then using TBC flying when it was the most broken.
The price of admission at this point to use TBC flying is a 5 second cast. For most who need or want this type of flying when playing the game, that is a one time fee. For those who want to keep abusing TBC flying’s most broken aspects that’s a 5 second cast time per afk session.
It negatively impacts nobody except the most prominent abusers of it.
You shoulda said that in the op statement…. Cuz I agree with you.
I just quit, like five minutes ago, and then re-subbed for another 12 months when I figured out I could press a button.
Nah, I’m just joking, I didn’t really quit.
I bet 9.5 out of 10 people that say that will quit WoW or delete their accounts are in fact not quitting WoW or deleting their accounts.
If anyone quits because of that then they were looking for a reason to quit but I’d bet there has been less than 10 people who actually quit and of those 10 9 will resub before their sub expires and the other 1 will resub on the day TWW comes out.
K thnx bye . . . Literally nothing changed other than you can swap flight modes to which ever one you prefer
I not only quit, but I threw my computer out of my window, ran downstairs and got my car, drove over my computer 3 times, and then lit it on fire because of this change. Then i brought it to Geek Squad and they told me they couldn’t fix it because of the dynamic flight caused their entire team to quit and move to a secluded monastery. They were all already celibate anyway so they figured they might as well live the monk life due to the flight changes
Bronze dragon confirmed still lives in timeline with geek squad
I’ll admit it. I absolutely loved using DF in Northrend for that quest. So fast.
