Paying gold for dungeon runs

Paying someone to literally run you through a dungeon, is not the same as paying a tank to tank a dungeon for you.

One is literally one person doing all the work to help someone else out and make their lives easier.

The other’s a silly person thinking their role in the group dictates they should get more than anyone else in the group.

To compare the two would be a false equivalency.

I have no problems with an exchange of money between two people to have a low level character, easily dragged through dungeons the high level character can completely solo.

I do have a problem with someone demanding they get paid to carry their own weight in a dungeon party.

Mmm, nope.

Still not paying a tank ever to tank a group for me.

Yeah, kind of is. The tanks selling their runs are typically skilled, and often geared past the dungeons. Most tanks I see doing this are in raid gear and are now looking to make gold. If they aren’t paid to do the dungeon, they simply won’t do the dungeon. They get nothing else out of it.

No it’s not.

At all. It’s a complete false equivalency.

That was the most ridiculous reply yet… You defend your position with nothing but your opinion. That’s all you’ve added to these conversations, opinion.

No reasoning behind it, no facts, no other suggestions. Literally just opinion.

You feel that way because you, for whatever reason, cannot seem to find the difference between someone paying one person, to do all the work, and carry them through a dungeon, and someone demanding payment, to do their part in a group to complete a dungeon.

If you cannot see the difference between these two things. That’s your problem. Not mine.

They don’t need that dungeon, and likely can easily replace you with the 10 other healers on their friends list even if they actually wanted to do the dungeon.
Which they do not.

Took the words out of my mouth.

Literally Pay To Win.

0 Respect.

What is he winning? The gold he farmed? He traded his time in one form into another. He’s not winning a level 52, he’s trading for it. That’s not pay to win.

If you demand payment to do your role in a party, then you’re not joining my party. :woman_shrugging:

And if you still cannot see the difference between demanding payment to do your job in a group (Above and beyond what anyone else in the group gets for doing their job), compared to getting paid to do everything for someone else. I dunno what to tell ya.

I mean it’s hardly pay to win unless you’re seriously comparing grinding out your own money on your account and paying for the convenience of having an instantly available tank to using mom’s credit card to buy in-game money.

Paying gold to have his character leveled? Literally Pay to Win.

Where did the gold come from though?

I’m currently selling these runs in BRD on my server while waiting for BGs. I charge 1.5g per person per run, which is less than the coin share. I almost exclusively run with mages/locks and one healer, with levels ranging from 48-55. I’d say on average it’s 70g/50k exp per hour. Doing the cogwheel room and the entire hall connected to the arena takes on average 15 minutes with my personal best time being 12 minutes 30 seconds. This is not including the arena, with the arena it’s 18-20 mins per run.
People LOVE these runs. With all the ganking going on at that level range I have no problems finding people and often have a queue of players wanting to join.
Personally, I can understand the frustration with questing atm, especially if your playtime is limited, so I see no problem with getting some dungeon boost.

If you want an ungeared tank that actually needs the dungeon, go for it. But don’t expect to demand to have raid geared tanks that literally get nothing from giving you their time to tank for you.

You’re selfish af imo. Don’t you like opinions? 'Cause that’s all you give, so there’s mine.

You go wait that 30 min-2 hours for a tank in greens that is struggling with pulls. I’m not, thanks.

I will always prefer taking an undergeared tank that needs the dungeon over some raid geared tank that demands to be paid extra to do his role in the group.

I’m not selfish. Just because I refuse to pay an entitled tank to do his job? that’s silly. :joy:

That doesn’t matter lol. If you are paying someone to run you through dungeons while you just sit there and do nothing, that is not playing your class to level it, which is the basis of the argument of Pay to Win.

Yeah, and if someone wanted to pay me to heal on an elite quest, then I’d do that too.
I’m getting paid to do my role. Wow, must be a jerk. lols

It does matter. “Pay to win” has the implication that they didn’t legitimately earn whatever it is they received. If they worked for their gold then how exactly is it pay to win? You some kind of e-socialist or something?

I’d probably heal the elite quest for free. :woman_shrugging:

I’m not out to self-enrich myself over the struggles of others on my server though. So I suppose that’s just the difference between us.
