This would be an accurate description of the issue if WoW’s end goal was simply having the better gear than anyone else and winning because of it.

If you sucked before the gear then you’ll suck once you have it.
The only people winning are the ones selling the boosts, everyone else loses when the boosted turn up to keys or raids with their bought runs and/or kills.
There’s not even a guarantee that you get the “win” if you’re not buying BoEs. Could all be for vault garbage.

Uh, you realize the guy buying carries will just have his logs pulled and won’t even get a trial in any serious raiding guild?
You’re cooking up all these scenarios that shows how little you really do any of the content.
If you’re good enough to clear PVE or PVP, you aren’t buying carries. If you’re buying carries, you’re going to get stomped by the organic players.

Just wait until they find out these other people selling those carry services had to go through and “win” all of everything to be able to do carries. Can’t win if they won already.

These topics are so pointless when everyone has their own definition of p2w. I’m not about to read 395 replies but I’d bet most of them are arguing about what p2w actually means.
WoW has very minor elements of p2w, by what I consider a reasonable definition. But it is so mild that I think anyone who thinks WoW is p2w has never actually seen a real p2w game.
Imagine if crest upgrades had a chance to fail. The closer you get to max track rank, the higher the chance to fail. When your upgrade fails, you also have a chance to destroy the item. But oh look, now we sell crests directly in the cash shop! Along with that, we also sell a crest upgrade stabilizer that removes the chance to destroy the item if the upgrade fails.
Oh and don’t forget your loot booster that gives you extra chances at loot at the end of a dungeon or raid. $5 each or 5 for $20!
That’s the garbage an actual p2w game has.

This is why BlizZard stepped in to stop it during systemlands. This is common knowledge and to ignore that is to basically say that BlizZard’s actions against pay 2 win was everyones imagination.
Truth is that even BlizZard couldn’t ignore the pay 2 win that was happening in PVE and PVP in systemlands . The first season was the worst too.
