Pay Homage to Medivh with The Guardian Pack Transmog Set

That would be cool. Win a few Blizzard Bucks for showcasing a mog using the new items.

Is this because the European team “crossed wires” (I believe that is how they put it) and showed off these rewards early on their servers and now that you saw the response you think you can make money off of a pre-release? I knew monetization of the Trading Post would come sooner or later; Bobby just can’t let a cent pass him by…

As long as I can get something without paying money for it I won’t complain

The predatory remark is more in regards to the trading post as a whole. Login rewards are meant to give you an obligation to log in, the limited time availability preys on peoples FOMO which I’ll digress from since it has been discussed ad nauseam.

There once was a time in video games where cosmetics were a part of the gameplay itself. It is strange when people bring it up as “just cosmetics” as if it isn’t still a major gameplay loop in WoW itself. We already pay a box price and a subscription, there really isn’t a reasonable argument as the person purchasing these items to paywall content beyond that already.

If anything it removes the fear of missing out by giving you two different ways AND dates to get it…

I swear people use fomo as just a confetti word these days…

Hello, I see you posted a thread about an ugly hooded set. Haha, so the first iteration of trading post monetization has begun! How long before we can buy tender in the store?!

Thanks for your post and have a great day!

Actually it would. Its pretty camo if you look at it. Has a Aragon vibe to the cape and hood.

I would just like to know the name of the outfit xmog that they are wearing.

Think my hunters would look good in them, my female ones anyways.

You use to be really funny.

Im calling imposter!

LOL!

You are certainly giving me pause to think about WoW, and what WoW did and did not have at release, or in the first years.

Our Sub price has not changed, so what do we get for it now compared to 2004?

  • There was no transmog system in WoW until Nov 2011. Store cosmetics started with the 3 helms in 2013. Shop transmogs have stayed limited, with most available in-game. Mounts and pets though were certainly popular shop items.

What else do we have now that we consider part of the game/sub that we did not have back in the early years? I feel like for the price (zero cost increase in 19 years), that we get more for it now than we did in 2004?

Now THIS is a good transmog that they could have used to advertise it. Wow that is fantastic. Is the purple glow on the staff native or something you did? That is the only thing I am a bit unsure of with the blue vials.

Guardians should get this free, because it’s named after them.

My 3 are still missing, and have been for years LMAO!

Oh no! I am sorry to hear that.

If the record of the purchase is still there on your Battlenet account then they should be able to help you. If you did a lot of account moving though, that might impact ability to do anything. The purchase is generally on the Bnet account, not the individual game license.

No shoulders?

Really brah?

Kevin Sorbo’s best acting.

Unfortunately.

The 19 year old staff looks better…

That’s NOT the issue. You know this is just them testing the waters or a small sign of things to come. People said they would slowly start monetizing trading post items and naysayers said “no way it’s never going to happen!” WRONG.

Prepare for $20 for 1000 trading post tender. Or $10-20+ for “early access” to trading post items. I’m super tired of being correct with predictions like this when I’m repeatedly told “that will never happen!!!”

It’s only $10, I’ll take it.

Nah dawg, premium trading post pass. Exclusive looks, pets, and mounts, but don’t get upset because “they are only cosmetics”.

It is for WoW and that’s what important. It’s clear they’re testing the waters to see what the players will put up with before expanding on this test run. Overwatch 2 was already ruined with extremely greedy microtransactions and this game is going that way too.

I played the game since vanilla beta but I guess I’m not the target audience anymore. People with self control of their finances who want a quality product for a reasonable price need not apply. If you think $21 for a single skin recolor (overwatch 2) is acceptable then welcome friend, please make yourself at home!
