Pay Homage to Medivh with The Guardian Pack Transmog Set

I’m buying it because for starters it’s just $8

But most importantly it will help me in the long run, as I stated above, it costs almost 1000 tender tokens and they said they will release that set sometime in the fall/winter

Why pay 1000 for that set when you can pay $8 and then use your 1000 on something else cooler

You avoid the internal debate on wether buying the set or some cool mount

I dont really like the helm and cloak but weapon is awesome. Should have been a FULL set like Xiata said.

Edit: Not sure why it @d at Xiata when I was making response to blizz post.

And that’s fine. What i’m getting that is it’s fair to do both.

I’m on the opposite spectrum whereas i’m not going to spend real life money on stuff like that. I don’t have to. Ergo, im happy as a penguin sitting on a bus

if you want them but don’t want to pay for it, then wait until it’s on the Trading Post.

players have asked for YEARS for more cosmetic options on the store.

have cake, eat it too, still complain. :dracthyr_shrug:

The cloak does no justice to medivh’s. His cloar is awesome and that is a feathered beach towel.

Pay Money to Blizzard with The Guardian Pack Transmog Set

TBH, I wish they’d take it down and see how many of the same people whine that they can’t get it now >_>;

Moving the dialogue from my thread here as this is the official one.

Dunno about the rest of you guys, but I just am not interested in this. I’m sorry Blizzard, but the Staff isn’t the right design, the cloak isn’t the correct shape, and the hood looks more like something a Druid of the Talon would wear.

Oh and all of them are the wrong colors on top of it all.

I mean the staff is a good start, and I have respect for whomever modeled this. But at the same time, one should at least make sure that the position the raven model in the correct poise and make the hood / cloak / gems are the correct colors if your going to ask cash for something like this.

Is this what the Medivas wear in Karazhan or something during performances or is this what the Wanton Hostesses wear during private RP sessions? Just morbidly curious… because this don’t look much like a set Medivh or the Guardian at all wears. Druid of the Talon? Sure.

Medivh? Not so much.

I know a lot of retcons have happened, but Ati’esh is still a thing. Perhaps if Blizzard was to offer a high res version of that comparable to the Staff of Gul’dan, and perhaps a cloak / hood more alike to the Warcraft 3 Prophet we’d be talking about something that justified the price.

What matters to me mainly is calling something what it is. The items are represented as Medivh’s stuff, but not even the color is right. Just saying if your going to offer something as being tied to a specific lore character, at least meet the expectation.

It is not in the game and has been in it or obtainable for close to 14.

That is close to the amount of time it takes to raise a child. I think it’s time for a proper rework of it and a high res version of it. Especially if your going to market a set as “The Guardian’s Set”. I have 0 cares or sympathy for someone so jaded that they would fight such a thing, because of something they did close to 13 years ago in a video game.

…Huh. When I put it that way, the people who try to defend “legacy achievements” looks, appear even more pathetic than I thought they would. So someone got lucky when they were a kid and now the equivalent of their beloved High School Varsity Letter… that does not exist, Save in a video game. Or something. … Heh.

Speaking of…

I’d be curious how people handle things that they can’t get anymore IRL. I suppose that’s why retro stuff is coming back like 8track and some dressing trends.

I’d be even more curious how many would throw a tantrum that if they DID play back then that Atiesh was for Mages, Warlocks, Priests and Druids. As a Warrior, I should be able to have Atiesh because I can use staffs.

Well we saw this with the Super Nintendo. They rerelease it. Walked into a Game Shop last week. A Super Nintendo was on sale and so was a Chrono Trigger game pack. Both were also apparently rereleases. That made me smile.

Probably not a Super Nintendo from 1991, I would imagine. I got a SupaBoy which was pretty cool.

This is really not worth 8 dollars. Maybe if it had Medivh’s shoulders as well, or was an entire outfit I’d be willing pay 10 or so dollars. But just a cloak, helm, and staff is really weak.

still waiting for it on my account :frowning:

no, that was your weird interpretation.

if you take the blurb at face value, it doesn’t even attempt to imply that it’s meant to be Medivh’s stuff.

The clothes are available in-game from the Valdraken Rep vendor either as part of your quests as you gain rep, or for in-game currency. So, they are free I guess? Or at least have no additional cost in real life money. It comes in 4 colors. The one pictured is the black variation, although I honestly think that was not the best outfit to pair with the hood, cloak, and staff.

As for the new idea they are trying. I mean, I don’t see anything WRONG with letting people have an option to spend cash or gold in the shop for it before it becomes part of the rotating Trading Post. It lets them save their tenders for other items and prioritize a cosmetic look they might really want NOW, instead of waiting.

Main difference with this one, is that they accidently released it on the TP first, and some people got it for free and got to keep it, now the rest of us can spend $8 or wait until September.

It literally is Magus Medivh’s staff from HoTS.
