The simple fact that Pathfinder keeps finding a path into the game is all proof enough that it has zero to do with retention metrics. It’s 100% a principles thing on Blizzard’s part. They really don’t want the old flying in the game anymore but can’t bring themselves to pull the plug (which they honestly should do at this point).

Also, shame on people using disabled folks as a crutch for whatever argument. Mind your business.

Regular flight and dragonriding are two very different things… some like one some like the other. That just seems to be beyond the comprehension of some people.

False. The MSQ cannot be completed without dragonriding.

We talked about this, the only section is that one straight jump over a gap from Azure to Valdrakken.
If they cant press spacebar 2x in a row while their character moves in a straight line then their problems are far beyond dragon flight.

those are not your only options for WQ, they are a low amount in fact, many more WQ do not require DF to reach or complete. there are many quest/wq options left to do

yea so, I think a couple things about this

1. it’s absolutely stupid to expect people who can’t dragonride to have someone ferry them around. Do you really expect people to have someone at their beck/call at all times they want to play? that’s just not realistic.

2. It seems a little ridiculous to have a pathfinder meta achieve to gain flying in an expansion where we can already fly

I asked a question as someone who seeks to understand because I don’t have a disability that limits me in such a way.

I guess my thing is that I HAVE been disabled.
Twice now entirely quadreplegic for half a year, then many months recovering.
I supposed its easy for the total lack of empathy from some if theyve never experienced it and actually believe themselves invincible as I did…as most do.

We’re all one stroke or fall or hit to the head away from eating thru a tube for the rest of our lives, we’re just too ignorant of reality to grasp it.
And for those who have had something happen already, its pretty disgusting to be so apathetic towards them because one hasnt lived in their shoes for a day.

The only main difference between dragonriding and normal flying is that you have to actively hit buttons, which is also what someone would be doing in PVE or PVP gameplay too.

Honestly, you don’t even need to actively do much of anything. Tap “UP” three times to start and glide wherever, if you don’t make it, rest the dragon and then repeat. You don’t even need to tap “autorun” to keep flying.

If someone can kill a mob or do regular flight, they can do DR. Maybe not fast or graceful, but if we’re talking accommodations type stuff, slow DR with just the UP key gets you there just fine, if a bit slower.

That’s where most with disabilities just got completely roadblocked.

There’s a difference between like and ability to use. I completely get feeling that sky swimming is easier to use than DR; there’s stuff I can’t manage with DR that others seem able to, stuff I can do easily with sky swimming. But none of it is game breaking.

Some folks are suggesting they can’t get the Pathfinder achievement done with their existing ability to use DR, but I don’t think that’s actually true if they can drive sky swimming, they can drive DR slow-mode.

What mechanism do you use to normally fly from a town to a quest location in the old world. How is that different than tapping /clicking “UP” and gliding to the target?
