If they just added a “hover” button it would be fine. Dragonriding is really DragonGLIDING, which is to say, it can run out of gas and fall out of the sky.
Since this is a video game, this is very dumb. Give me a hover button.

I get what you’re saying and I agree.
But all things that fly if they run out of gas, whether literally or energy wise, are going to fall out of the sky.

Yea, and I can’t teleport home on my Mage like I can do INFINITE times in a row in WoW. It’s a video game, I’m tired of being annoyed every time I try to do something. Like hitting an invisible branch and missing out on a rare or something.
I have gold in all races including Kalimdor Racer title, but elements about Dragonriding are still annoying.

i dont hate renown grinds, provided they are sensible. i’m currently grinding rep with waveblade ankoan, and its so long, its really not fun. at least i can normal fly. i did the rep grind for tbc kurenai in 2 days. but this was back when you could earn rep easier. though honor hold rep was a bit of a pain once you hit heroic cause you couldnt earn rep other than once a day heroics or capture the towers. that was like a 3 day grind, longer if you count rep from quests. i did ashtongue deathsworn fast, just spammed the water elementals in black temple, reset, repeat. kyrian and night fae rep grinds were not horrible and the rewards were great. i’m not afraid to do the work. just trying to do it while dragonriding is icky.

Playing through the entire massive main story questlines for each expansion in FFXIV, and then coming back to Dragonflight for “grind rep to get 15 mins of story” is some real whiplash. Like my god, I don’t even think it’s that the WoW writers could never write as good of a story as the FFXIV writers, I truly think it’s more that the WoW devs wouldn’t ever let it be implemented in a way into the game that is good storytelling without tacking all kinds of ways to maximize player login and subscription metrics and just completely ruining it.
I feel like they’re just getting in their own way of making a good game.

I’ll still use mine. I dont want to go back to 310 if I dont have to. (also not interested in PF) I have adapted pretty well to DRing and can pretty much land with accuracy and can find a perch most anywhere to survey a camp where I might have hovered in the past.
Will you go back to regular flying (if you are even interested in doing PF again) ?

There’s no mount in this game I like so much I’ll stick to 410% flight for.
How? It’s literally the same as all the others, sans SL, which was just play through the campaign.
People seem to forget you needed 44 renown before you “played through the campaign” and got to chapter 3 of Korthia to unlock the quest that rewarded the flight unlock.
44 — And now you’ve got complaints about 15.

Probably not because I have no desire to do Pathfinder.
So will we get a book that jumps us up to renown 15 with all factions like I got in SL?

Plus you had to do a 2nd one for zenith mortis
And if players swapped covenants before Korthia, they did a lot more than 15x6 renown.
