Trying to read your grammar, OP… no offense but that’s a path I can’t seem to find.
I feel like pathfinder is fine when you’re currently playing the game. But if you haven’t been and then try to come back is when it sucks. It doesn’t seem that bad to hit renown 15 on a character (i haven’t looked at all the requirements. ) but I’ve also been playing enough (since DF launch) to get that on a few characters now.
I mean I could be wrong, but I don’t think we’ve ever gotten a mount for getting any of the pathfinder achievements.
Punishing those with disabilities and returning players is not a winning business move BlizZard.

That’s not evidence about how the players feel, it’s a statement that Ion made. Do you have any evidence about how the players feel about path finder and flying?
And yes I know the minority of people in the forums who are angry and form an echo chamber feel that way but what about all the other people who just log in and play the game without entering notes in forums?

Edit to add more detail:
Legion unlocked the class mount storylines after Pathfinder and the Shadowlands chapter that unlocked flying gave you a Covenant mount.

Since we already can fly I don’t see the need to gate normal flying behind pathfinder. At this point in the xpac it looks and feels more like a punishment or very obvious way to stretch out time played numbers. Pathfinder is not adding anything meaningful to the game and ultimately may serve more of a determent to people waiting to play WoW when normal flying is added.
If anything a short quest chain could have given the ability for normal flying.

We have, WoD and BfA if memory serves. I’m just trying to find a silver lining for the horribly divisive arguments taking place. At least give a mount as a gain for the renown grind since everything else awarded is restoration of things we already have.

There really are none. Because even the people who keep saying, “but we’ve always had Pathfinder, what did you expect,” are also saying,“not that I think it’s necessary…”
So I don’t even know why people are arguing to keep Pathfinder. The whole thing is mind boggling.

But you don’t have to do it? I mean I get it, it is pretty stupid normal flying is locked behind a renown sink, but i don’t see it as a big deal considering I can get around on my dragon at over twice the speed. <.<… What incentivization do you have to ride on a regular flying mount? None, you’d be gimping yourself.

They learned. This pathfinder is entirely optional, unlike in the past.

I applaud them for the changes this expansion. Dragon riding is great fun.
i can but its frustrating because i’m terrible at it. people are saying - grind out the rep…thats way more dragonriding than i can stomach. i ran m+ with my daughter’s guild and if the dungeon required dragonriding, she would let me use the fly along feature. otherwise, my team mates would have to wait for my old bones to catch up. the real question is - why do people who have no problem with dragonriding, begrudge people who want to use the easier flying instead? i dont get it.

It doesn’t matter if we begrudge or we don’t. I mean why are humans ever mean? Why are you and I mean from time to time? Human nature.
All of it is moot. We can’t stop it. Only the developers can. If/when they change it at all… The reality is you have to either dragon ride or flight path to pathfind. People may not like that. You have to do that, but at least you have options. It’s not the end of the world. The opposition simply doesn’t care that you have to do those things.
And I mean no offense to anyone but that is their prerogative.
I’ve been saying this since SL: they are spiteful and when they do crap like this it just confirms that theory in my mind.
Like someone already pointed out, it’s the slower way to travel. In the past the requirements to fly slower were much lower than flying faster (250g vs. 5000g).
