Have you ignored World Quests? That’s your primary source of rep to begin with, not including any dailies, no one is blaming you for having different priorities but it is your fault if you made zero effort to do World Quests or the small number of dailies.
Edit: Not to mention you need some reps up at certain levels to continue the post story extras.
Ah - so it is my fault for ‘playing the game as I normally would’ and not playing the game in such a way to do the primary thing to get the rep.
Have I ignored WQs? Not totally - Do I have several alts that have done world quests - yes. I have several alts hoovering around 9-10 renown. It wasn’t until I hard focused one toon. I like alts, what can I say.
I raid. I do mythics. I level alts. I do old content. I’ve recently gotten into professions. I have a very limited time to commit to WoW. So, sometimes I won’t be able to do WQs.
My whole annoyance is just as the phrase, “play the game as you normally would”. But, I don’t add WQs into that all the time. So, I guess its my fault for “playing the game as I normally would”
I’ve said this before in a previous thread. The changes to WQ going from daily to Twice a week means they are not the main way to get rep.
To main way I’ve seen to get rep is to do, in order, weeklies, then the WQs, then the mindless minigame grinds.
It’s really not as simple as just “playing the game”. If you want to get the renown up, you gotta focus on it, else you end looking up and noticing you only have 1 rep at max, in my case it was the Valdrakken Accord, and that was because I was primarily doing every bit of content that wasn’t obviously a renown grind and that still took me upwards to 6-7 months with my play style.
EDIT: Heck I’d even go as far as to say WQ are currently the worst way to do it, if you care about efficiency. When I was grinding up the old reps, I could really only focus on 1 rep per daily reset, because I had to go to the FR, choose a faction to get the 10% rep gain, then make sure I do their weekly, then their WQ, and then log for the day because I couldn’t do anyone elses WQ without their 10% buff, else I was screwing myself out of renown.
I honestly just don’t like anything locked behind rep - especially the story! I remember one time I had to “get to 12 renown” to unlock the next part of the story early on. I was excited. Got 12 renown with the Accord. Unlocked the next story quest. Did the story quests in like 15ish mins…maybe a little more. But it was fast.
Then, was told I needed to get 19 rep to continue the story…
After that I just really stopped caring too much about rep.
Locking the story is absolutely stupid, and part of the reason why the story telling of Dragonflight, despite it being the most coherent in years, is still a utter mess to follow.
EDIT: Like, going into the Guardians of the Dream patch, you’re gonna have zero idea why Ysera, who is super dead, is somehow back again or how Merithra finally became the Green Aspect, because both of those can only be seen in the Maruuk renown track.
Which is another thing and why this is stupid to me. Why is the Maruuk renown track, just about the Green Dragons? Why if I say, red scales, I had to grind the Dragonscale Expedition?
You’re right. I failed to take into account the people who want to play the game as a lobby sim while simultaneously being very concerned that they can’t hover afk on their regular flying mounts. My fault.
Hey, afk hovering in a lobby is fire and ‘lit’ as the kiddos would say.
Yes, WQ’s are garbage, why would I do them?
Every time I reached that point in a storyline I just stopped doing it. I find it hilarious that Blizzard thinks that the lore is so good I would actually do a reputation to see more of it.

Obviously, pathfinder is working by their metrics. If you want them to stop doing it, then unsub instead of completing the pathfinder and they’ll change tactics quickly.
I’ve never bothered with pathfinder, I always just wait for the expansions to eventually release flying.
I really think it is a silly thing to have, in an area that already has flying. If everyone can already fly why not let them fly how they want? I like Dragon Riding, but not everyone does.
The only reason is to make people spend more time in the game while leveling rep.
The entire expansion is designed around dragon riding. Be thankful they’re giving the option to use old mounts.
id like to believe that…but I think Ion still has this mentality that some casualties are acceptable as long as he gets his way on some things…even if its not of any benefit to the game.
the vast majority of us have already run the content, much of it. We arent hindered.
If its say 1 or 2% who are having trouble with DRing, I got my money, based on his past obstinance, that hes willing to lose those players if need be just to get his way on pathfinder.
It is your fault. And no not specifically you before you feel called out.
Remember, when WQ was daily, and thus would have actually been a constant and consistent grind up that you could easily do “as you normally play” getting renown 15 probably wouldn’t be too bad and the complaining wouldn’t be as bad.
But they made WQ twice a week, to encourage you to not do them as often, then tried to say “Nothing in renown is really worth it. Only do it if you want!” before slapping
their Pathfinder on the table and forcing you to look at it.
It must be really baffling to some people that an open ended MMORPG has many different ways to play the game that is different from how they play it.

What theyre upset about, literally is that we’re asking that normal flight be no more work than done for Dragonriding. lol
Theyre pointlessly running their mouths in a way that makes it sound as if we’re still fighting about which flight wins out lmao…and that war was already lost. Normal flight IS coming. PERIOD. We know that fact.
So this entire fruitless onslaught NOW is to insult those who have WAITED all this time for normal flight and just want it no harder than the edgelords got Dragonriding for.

Everyone by now should have 15+ renowns on their faction. If you don’t, that’s on you. If you want to fly normally, start grinding renown reps.
As some one who only logs in to step foot into M+ or Raid, there’s no way I am getting pathfinder. Maybe if we could grind rep by wearing tabards in dungeons/raids again then I would grind the renown.
I feel sorry for returning or new players.
Punishing players that want to try out TBC flying is bad with patchfinder.
I don’t have renown 15 on anyone either because I like to play alts and renown doesn’t go into a shared pool. Yeah, I’m out. I’m letting my sub lapse then I’m gone for a good while if not for good. This kind of crap is so offputting, it makes me NOT want to play this game.
