That’s because your question is talking about completely different systems, it’s like asking “Will dragonflight races give artifact power like in vanilla?” or something equally nonsensical.
that’s your own fault if you do this, have some self control. if there’s something that you want outside of what you normally do, sacrifices to allow time for it must be made.
As others pointed out, you could level up rep in Cata by doing dungeons while donning the tabard of the faction you wanted to level up. That was a way to level up the rep without having to do Dailies (there were no WQs at that time).
Renown Coins were a way to level up (or rather, catch up) on Renown in Shadowlands, and they could be acquired by doing dungeons and raids.
During Timewalking, you can buy rep tokens for factions of the TW expansion via doing TW dungeon runs (as many as you want). I don’t see why this should necessarily be limited to TW of previous expansions.
I guess what I’m asking is, is there a way to level up Renown in DF by doing dungeons and raids?
Step 1. Go to the forbidden reach and get your daily 10% rep buff for the rep of your choice.
Step 2. Do the forbidden reach rep quests
Step 3. Start with the centaur hunts since that is the easiest to farm. You literally just keep doing the hunts over and over again.
Step 4. Next, do the Tuskgarr by doing the feast every time its up, doing the daily quests, and turning in fish for the weekly bonuses. The Tuskgarr is the second easiest to farm.
Step 5. The Niffen and Expedition are a little slower, but do the weekly Niffen rep quest which can easily be completed with a 12/12 Researchers event, a few digs, and the WQs. The Niffen weekly also give an extra 500 bonus rep. For the Expedition, all you can do are the rare “hunt” quests they give at their camp, WQs, and look for loose soil…so its probably the hardest to farm.
Make sure you use the Valdrakken weekly quests for the Expedition since its the hardest to farm of the ones you have remaining…and make sure you have the daily rep bonus on when you turn it in.
The only one you might be held back on is the Niffen, but you’ll have a few weeks after the patch release to finish it while you get the new rep up.
They have been playing the game, they’ve just been in their little corner that they like rather than running around the world. Folks who like to PvP had little cause to go out in the world. Their primary gear path was isolated from it.
Raiders and M+ runners have little need to run around the world, as there’s no real power out there – it’s all professions and cosmetics.
Since there’s no “borrowed power”, which used to “come from the world”, those who just pursue power doing content they like had no real drive to participate in the rest of the content. Renown is a mostly casual player mechanic.
Mind, all of the other points about “not needing flying” have some validity, but, simply, there are folks who’ve been playing as long as everyone else, but made very little progress on renown simply because it involved content they had no interest in, nor need, to do.
I am willing to take that hit for the very reason that the amount of time I spend in the air on the dragon annoyed will be less than the amount of time I spend annoyed accruing rep for pathfinder.
The devs are making themselves look like idiots. If they think I’m going to jump through their hoops for a minor inconvenience they better keep looking for a mark because I am not the droids they are looking for.
But you are so wrong about this. You can easily skip all the story nonsense and just raid/M+/PvP without gaining hardly any rep. Some take an effort to grind out, especially the mole-guys. It’s especially ludicrous because you supposedly won’t be able to use real flying in ZC or the Dreaming, so why the frakk are they part of the Pathfinder spitegate?? Just another shining example of how blatantly anti-flying Daddy Blizz is.
I’m not out in the world doing stuff very often because it is miserable on a ground mount and dragonriding gives me motion sickness. I want normal flying so I can do all the world content I had to skip. I may be far enough with mole people to just finish it with Researchers Under Fire events, but the rep requirement is ridiculously unfair for those of us who have medical issues with dragonriding. The zones are designed for air travel yet they gate the only flying that works for us.
I mean no, they really haven’t been playing the game if their rep/renown is below 15. They basically ignored everything else but their raid/m+.
They more than likely didn’t do the storyline, weeklies, play in the open world.
That’s not the game’s problem, they choose to ignore what has been required since WoD, which is reputation. which means being out in the open world, just playing. Granted there’s a whole nother’ debate on should it be required or not. I’m on the side of just let people have it, but it’s time metrics now a days.
Doesn’t deter from the fact if you just play the content that comes out and flying is unlocked, but people just try and twist if like they are being forced to do it. If you don’t want to do it fine, it’s not a real big lose. you still have dragon riding. For those who don’t really care for it (me). I will unlock normally flying.
This is true, so why do you need normal flying then? it’s a lesser efficient mode of travel then what’s already offered at the start of the expansion. I can bet most of them don’t care, as most raiders and m+er’s generally do things the most efficient way possible.
I don’t know. I got all of them capped by January 17th (levels 25/30), but I could have done it faster if I had really been trying…and none of the methods I used got nerfed. In fact, many of them were made easier, like the Tuskarr.
And really, the Valdrakken rep was the holdup, so once you get past that one it is much easier to farm the others.
