Same here. Can’t log in with any of my toons. Can’t create new characters on any realm regardless of the population.
They posted the exact same thing last night, and today they replied to someone saying the issue was resolved and came back. Tells me they didnt do a thing, rather they just let people give up until the servers could handle it and now the same is happening tonight.

So I decided to try again hoping this would work for me and I could help blizz find a solution. But unfortunately I tried this 5 times with no luck. I guess you just got lucky. For me, 2 straight days of this bull.

No characters show up in the realm list, manually selecting my realm will show them, but attempting to actually log into them just returns “Character not Found” Been happening to me since about 10 pm~ yesterday (CST) Was able to play prior to that.
Tried a scan and repair, and the issue still persists.
(Literally as I was posting this I was able to get in, possibly through brute force, or possibly because it took less time to log into game server that usual?)

I gave up yesterday… got in for 2 minutes before servers taken down this morning, and now NADA again!!
Hubby has the exact same laptop & we both play on the same server. He’s had no issues, and I’m ready to launch my computer out the bloody window!!

So I’m trying again for the 2nd night in a row to get into my server and the characters I try are all coming back “Character not found”. How long until this is fixed? I would have thought that you would have already found the problem by now. It’s been what 24 hours now?
This just worked for me after many failed normal attempts to login, thank you so much and here’s to hoping they actually get this fixed in a short time!
Yeah, sounds like it’s over-loaded, will try to play the game again later mid-night …

Have the Devs looking into this look at the login timer. While this work around is working for some of us it still is not working for all of us. I know for myself I have a higher latency internet connection typically ranging upward of 1500ms. If the login timer has too narrow of a threshold then higher graphics settings, coupled with, greater server density, and user latency will force people back to the login screen.

idk if yet another report will help but…
i was playing a few hours ago, no problems. BUT I ran a “scan and repair” and was still downloading data (got to green optimal before i clicked play) and that was when i discovered my own characters missing.
This just worked for me as well. Thanks.
