Same issue here, can’t log into any characters and none of them show up.

I was able to log in on Area 52 about an hour ago. Logged out to make a new character and try out Exile’s Reach only for the character creation to fail. I remembered some folks talking about this last night so I tried to log back in on my main (whom I’d been off of for about five minutes) and: Character not found. I see you haven’t figured out what went wrong. Best of luck, fellas. I’d love to actually play the game.
Had no issues last night, or earlier today Now I am. Stormrage all characters come back with not being found. New small indy dev team though so I give them a pass.

I gave this a try, didn’t work for me. 
Guess it’s one more night of not playing.
Getting the same issue of black character select screen and no characters found.
Take the servers down and fix this garbage already! Two straight days now for me!

Same here too.
I also wish to add that when attempting to create a new character I receive “Character Creation Timed out”. I suspect the login failures with character not found would likely be directly related to login timers. In an ideal situation whatever the current login timer is set for would allow for some slight delays. I suspect that with an new update that the login timer time was adjusted too low and is not factoring high latency users or the delays caused by numerous users logged in as well as probably high user repeat login attempts as many of us are probably spamming the login servers in an effort to finally get in.
The lack of communication from blizzard is upsetting, I remember when they used to be transparent now its just a complete farse, this always happens and they seem to not care, I know people who took time off work for the pre-patch launch, just for this to happen to them. Blizzard needs to get their ducks in a row.

Having this issue for the first time. I have been playing today without problems, logged off, and now can’t log back on.
I can eventually get to the server select screen (but it does not show my chars on Proudmoore or Area52) get to the character screen, see all my characters, but when I try to log in, it times out and says character not found.

Same. I was able to login and play on an/all characters earlier today but tonight am getting a long loading screen and the kick out with Character Not Found for any character I try to load across multiple realms.

I was playing just fine, but now the game can’t find any of my characters.
This pre-patch was a mistake.

I’m new to WoW and the forums. Has anyone found a working solution to the issue? Like many of you, I get the blue loading bar, then it gets stuck and tells me “character not found.” Have been trying for 45 minutes. My bf is playing in the same room, same server—no issues. Very frustrating.
Actually Blizz responded in this thread about 30 minutes ago. If you use the Blizz button on the right and click through it you will find all of the responses and follow up from Blizz support.

I have a feeling they wont do crap. I am starting to wonder why I keep supporting a company who seems to be continuing to get worse not better. I am really losing hope.

Yeah, i’m considering unsubbing. Between it running like crap, the mess they’ve made of the release and target capping, I think it’s time to say goodbye for good.
I mean, why pay when I can’t even login.
