This better not be on purpose. Even something simple like trying to summon that rare that needs 3 people was impossible because no one could see each other. We shouldn’t have to run to a city and back to the rare spot just for something like that to work.
I absolutely abhor this if it truly is on purpose. Seriously, Blizzard? Stop. Change this back.
If this is on purpose Blizzard, this is one of the stupidest changes you could introduce. My wife and I spent 30 minutes trying to get into the same phase. She’s more than half-blind and depends on me to call or identify certain things that may fall in a blind spot. You are literally making this harder for people with disabilities.
Guys this is CLEARLY on purpose, if it was a bug the tool tip wouldn’t say “go to a sanctuary to join the same phase”.
This was an intended and totally stupid pointless change.
Goodbye to ever grouping up for quests/events/rares ever again (aka the whole reason lots of us play an MMO instead of a single player game.)
Once again tedium for the sake of tedium. Blizzard are unreal, they really have outdone themselves on this one.
This is an amazingly huge issue - my wife and I predominately play the game together, and now we have to hearth to Oribos as soon as we log in ever single time in order to be in the same phase. Then we can set back out. Absolutely ridiculous and game-breaking.
Not to mention what this would clearly do to joining groups for rares/WQs/etc. The tooltip received when mousing over the phase icon for a party member explains that you must return to a sanctuary to be placed in the same phase as the player, which means Oribos or another capital city - not just any rested area will do.
Just read the wowhead article. Apparently it’s not a bug. What was the developers hoping a change this ridiculous would achieve?
I read in a different thread that they suspected the change was to fix a wPvP exploit where people would join raids just to swap realms to take advantage of world PvP events like in Nazjatar. Sounds plausible to me, but unfortunately the people who really get punished are the people trying to play with their partners, friends, family, etc.
For 16 years I’ve leveled with my wife. Can’t do so any more. Please fix this.
Unable to see party (multiple parties tried) to complete WANTED: GORGEBEAK (oops, on 52 druid). Tried party sync.
Please tell me someone didnt come up with this idea in Blizzard and people, instead of booing and throwing things at them, supported this inane change.
This is still happening even after server reset.
Same realm and guild as well as quest progress in party but different phases.
How is this NOT fixed?
Linking another for reference, green post saying Blizzard is aware of the issue. Grouping for questing - #5 by Sarwen-area-52
Can’t even use LFG to group for a group quest boss…
I assume this is the same issue, but I use the LFG tool to find a group and am not phased to them. I’m aware that I need to be in a sanctuary, so I’m standing in Hero’s Rest, but it doesn’t phase me. I tried a few different groups, it never works.
Until they fix this… what exactly qualifies as a “sanctuary” other than Oribos? Phased yet again on logging in… tried going to rested area in Bastion… no luck.
Can confirm this is still an issue, making doing World quest an absolute nightmare.
PSA: Turns out this is actually not a bug and is a change in phasing.
OOF, thats kinda disgusting, makes group finder on the fly more or less pointless
This very well better be a bug. What kind of MMORPG would restrict non-instanced grouping among friends to few, select zones? That would defeat both the MMO and the RPG aspects of WoW.
