Plenty of issues with Chromie time too. I will often see a party member in the party frame with the “bubble” showing they are in a different phase. Mousing over it tells me they need to change their chromie time setting to be able to see them again. But they’re actually right there with the group in the same phase.
Experiencing this problem as well. Grouping up with a guildie together in Bastion, we get placed in different phases. However, grouping together in Oribos and then flying back out to Bastion keeps us in the same phase. Surely this is not intended.

Same here. Wife and I are in Bastion and haven’t been able to see each other since we started questing. Kind of defeats the damn purpose for us to play at this point. Yes, Blizzard… people do play with one another still on this game.

We were together no issues earlier… logged out and then logged back in a couple of hours later and were phased again. Our hearths are set in Oribos, so both of us hearthed back… dropped party and reinvited… no longer phased. Super annoying.

Broken again after about 15m… escort bugged out for me but not my other party member… after that, phased out… Please fix this!!!

Having the same issue. What’s the ETA for the fix on this? Ruining my first run.
I was in a group that was questing together last night to start the expansion and ended up with players in completely different shards heading into the Maw part of the quest line. We were in a group beforehand and in the same shard, but because it tossed us into different shards, we couldn’t complete the quests together. We had part of the group with the healer in a shard with a lot of people so it was easy to complete quests, and the other part of the group in an empty shard with no healer that took them twice as long to complete quests. Since none of us knew what getting back would have been like if we tried porting out, we ended up working as two groups instead of one until we finished Maw and ported up to Oribos.

Had this issue when trying to start the expac with a friend yesterday - We had to go through the entire Escape from the Maw questline before we could finally see each other in Oribos. I don’t think it’s a bug, because otherwise there wouldn’t be a tooltip programmed to tell you to go to a sanctuary to phase together.

Will there be some action taken soon in regards to this phasing issue? It is beyond frustrating. For ONCE since BC, I am actually online to enjoy this expansion only to find myself wishing I was at work and waiting a week or two to bother with this, or even 6 months from now. Like others that want to play with others… I’m a grumbling hot mess.

Adding my name to the list of people experiencing this. Happenend to my boyfriend and I when we started the Maw event, synced back up once we got to Oribos. Then after doing some quests in Bastion, took a dinner break, logged back in and we had to go back to Oribos to see each other.
Absolutely terrible change and if it isn’t a bug, it needs to be reverted.

This is happened to my fiancé and I. Unfortunately the pop up tool tip saying to go to Oribios only shows on default Ui, which we both use Add-on and did not see. So after ungrouping and regrouping multiple times I decided to log out so my fiancé could level his character to get ready for raiding/mythic plus. Essentially this means I won’t be playing at all until he finishes leveling his main character, as it is easier to level as a group. This means that I will be at least two days behind, plus anything I want to do by myself in game will end up being done some point on thanksgiving. I was so looking forward to shadowlands but between log-on issues and this it has really really soured me.

Blizzard has changed the way phasing works in the Shadowlands, forcing players to return to a Sanctuary before the game will update their phase to join a party member. Pugging World Quests using the LFG Group Finder to pug is now much much harder, as you’ll have to head to a Sanctuary before you can join the correct phase of your party!
So… have fun!
@Blizzard can u acknowledge this is an issue and let us know when we can get a fix…this is pretty annoying…my wife struggles enough w/out adding another layer of inconvenience.
So, if that’s the case and this is intended behavior and not a bug, they’re going to make a lot of people annoyed!
Read my post above yours, it’s not a bug, it’s intended, so there’s no fix coming for it sadly… maybe they’ll drop it one day.

I find it odd that they would make it intentionally difficult for people, but hopefully they’ll change their minds about it!
