Highly suspicious, js
Lmao this is quite literally copy paste a bellular video.
I had a good laugh when I watched that clown try and tell his YouTube fan Boys about parsing and keys and logs.
He’s quite literally the last person you should take viable information from unless it’s about lore or something. But please, if you know what’s good for you, do not listen to this clowns crackpot theories.
A bad player, upset he can’t play well, refuses to acknowledge he sucks, so he takes it out on information that quite literally tells you what you are doing wrong. Typical person that doesn’t like to be told they are bad, and that the numbers are there to prove it…so he has a hissy fit and tells his minions of YouTube that information is bad news
Pretty much never because I play well and try to improve when I make mistakes. I only pug. People are totally reasonable with rio, and the only time you’ll have issues is if you’re trying to do something +2 or more than your current level (don’t do that in pugs).
It actually does.
It shows you right there in the window “Main’s IO:, Mains CN:”
That means you’re in the wrong guild, and those people are sick of carrying your lazy behind.
That was way, way, way less common/widespread though. In the entire time I played Vanilla from 1.6 up throught 1.12 I had to do that to get into groups maybe 2-3 times, tops. I never asked it of others when building my own groups.
Alliance Bleeding Hollow wasn’t hypercompetitive though. Horde may have been since it’s always been the server’s dominant faction, but I don’t know.
Maybe it was less common on yours. it was all the thing on mine.
All that really matters is present day. There is literally zero chance of blizzard shutting down armory profiles, public access to achievements and api access to players gear.
Therefore, OP should focus on systems within the scope of reality.
Players vetting other players through -some means- will always exist.
In this case the dps in question was doing less dps than one of the tanks on heroic Stone Legion Generals. Not some random heroic dungeon, this was a heroic raid.
The buying carries is a excuse bad players use and io links your main score to alts once the alt has over 200 io
TLDR:
OP : “How many times have you not been invited to a group/raid because you have no experience and play your class badly?”
It’s not about playing “spread sheet simulator”, it about learning your rotation, the proper stats for your build and using the correct enchants and sockets. I mean lets be honest a second. If you had choice between 2 different players for a slot and they could be do mechanics just fine but one was doing 3 times the damage as the other, can you honestly say you would pick the lower DPS player? Now make it 9 better players and ask you self the question, is the problem actually with them or you?
A raid of people like you wouldn’t be doing raid content, well I guess there is always LFR.
And you can form your own raids. So you can make the choice to not use those “systems” that chain you down. If there are nearly as many out there that feel the same way, you shouldn’t have any problem finding others for the content you want to do. All those “systems” do is help other identify players that might not be on par with the content they are looking to do.
Yeah, this has been a problem since I started where artificial thresholds were set by people (or more likely came from the forum elitist jerks). People did everything they could to pad those numbers by ignoring mechanics often to the detriment of the group.
At this point I swear we devote more computing power to these things than landing a rover on mars.
My post didn’t really have to do with the specific instance of the OP. I was commenting on my own observations from when I used to run normal dungeons with my alts, which I don’t anymore.
parses are not “artificially generated”
So you’re comparing heroic raiding to normal/heroic dungeons?
People complaining and kicking for low dps in normal/heroic dungeons are dumb and there is no basis for as they aren’t even hard… Heroic raiding is a whole other topic altogether.
They aren’t artificial thresholds though. The OP was carried through Heroic and got removed prior to a fight where you can’t carry a DPS lower than the tanks. Heroic Denathrius has a harder DPS check in Phase 3 than Sludgefist, and the OP was below the tanks on almost every single fight. The parses they’re complaining about were made from players playing the same class and spec as them; if they are able to perform mechanics and meet the DPS checks, the OP is showing they aren’t Heroic raider material and should reconsider the content they want to play.
Don’t blindly assume the OP is a victim in all of this; they didn’t get a lot of sympathy in their other thread when it came to light they pulled ridiculously low numbers and complained they couldn’t continue getting carried.
Imagine numbers mattering in a number-centric game. Damage numbers to lower and deplete mob/boss health are a core part of the system, you have direct impact on the numbers you generate. Your artificial argument would work if it was unfair to anyone, but everyone is held to the same standard by the software. This is a you issue. Get better or deal with it.
FF14 has parses and sims too. I’m fairly certrain ESO also does. You can even get logs for Destiny.
It’s almost like FFXIV may have had the right idea by being anti-addon. Weird.
