I’ll be building my paladins as Ret primarily with points in the prot and holy trees as well. The idea being to build a paladin that suits my play style without sacrificing utility for group content.
The guy thinks proper testing is going into a game and slapping a creature. Every modern theory crafter laughs at this behavior. Not to mention he uses private server data that has been proven by to be wrong.
I mean you can listen to him but its about worth while as an LFR player attempting to teach you have to play your class in BFA.
It’s not like spells light up when you need to use them in BFA…oh.

It’s not like you can just hit shiny buttons and parse 100 on mythic Jaina.
If you are going to attempt strawman, at least make it a good one.
Playing your class and killing mythic Jaina are two different things and you know it.
We could go back and forth all day if you keep adding to your post.
He’s using the resources available to him and testing things out. All we have are decade + old memories to go on. Not to mention all the things no one knew back in the day, we were all set in our ways.
It’s funny how many people razz on the guy just cause he has some excitement about his class. He’s genuinely excited, listening to most people on this forum can be disheartening.

There are actual ways to create a simulation system using known data and the data on the CDN.

No one was talking about just playing the class, literally no one cares if you play a hybrid the way you want. People have a problem with his lunacy, pretending to know something with completely wrongful measures.

Prot and Ret Paladins are fine… I am not sure why min/maxer people hold so much sway in the classic community, it’s really annoying.

Ah the classical justification for nerfs in a video game since forever.
Also the classical justification for bad players to claim only the super skilled can play the class in return they beg for buffs.
Also the classical justification for not changing anything.
Outside of a guild who poached half of its DPS players from other guilds…
What guild will actually run as many warriors in all the pre-naxx content as what is claimed by the hyper min-max crowd?
If every healing capable class is forced to heal as their only job…
How many paladin, priests and druids will be brought in the first place?
If the total is 7 or 8, being the typical raid healing roster; what is the raid roster look like?
It’s my opinion that the hyper min-maxer players are actually kinda bad, because they’re depending on their build and class choice to carry them into an easier victory via higher throughput.
And that’s ok if they want to e dependent on crutches instead of playing the mechanics as intended.
I don’t fault them.for taking the easy way out, but I do fault them for telling others that it’s not possible.

DW Fury warriors would be pathetic, rogues would be fine, and ignite mages would die out. Sounds like every class would be able to live without getting dunked on.
It’s a DPS ceiling test - buffs and debuffs are used for good reason.
Fury Warriors cap out at 1700-1800 DPS on Patchwerk with every buff in the game and even more than what Exodia had…

Look at any raid logs and look at old school naxx videos in 2004-2007 and look what classes were top of damage.
If you wipe as a spelladin which happens to everyone, other dps classes will be fine without buffs. Hell, i did naxx without buffs in real vanilla.
Add in the fact that herb spawns would be so god damn rare.
we have - this was the benchmark during retail Vanilla
but he was a Gnome without weapon skill bonus, did not have full world buffs and messed up his overall rotation slightly according to Fury Warriors who have commented on it
