It’s less of a complaint than a simple statement of fact.
Transfers on PvP servers should be free, it’s not the players fault that Blizzard did nothing at all to try and balance the servers. Most of the people transferring are doing so because their servers are overwhelmingly horde or alliance, Blizz could have sorted that on the first few days of release by locking the creation of new characters on the dominant faction until it balanced out.
Thank you.
To all the conspiracy players and Retail haters, I am glad, as I am one of those players who went to a PvP server to play with friends. Those friends never made it past lvl 30 and have quit. So, I was stuck on a PvP server with no one I knew to play, nor wanting to be there. So this transfer service lets me go to a PvE server (what I wanted in the beginning but was outvoted). Oh yeah, one last thing, I am Horde. The unbalanced PvP issue doesn’t even apply to me. Just happy to be able to finish leveling.
Your rank remains, but you lose the kills for the week
I mean eventually all the servers are going to be dead, I don’t think that many will be willing to pay 25 bucks to transfer out now that BGs are out, the main spergs have already been taken out of the world and wpvp feels fine atm, actually manaing to get out and get my warrior up to 60 now. We will have to see how many are actually willing to pay such a price for them and their alts, the gold cap and level minimums make transfers not as appealing as it first looks.
True, but there’s no need to rush things with poor management decisions.
So much for not being given more than a week notice . Doesn’t really matter though since they mangled/changed AV for Classic instead of 1.12.

Right but the entire rest of the post was about how I don’t think this is rushing it because I don’t think it’s going to be used a lot.

Thank you for this. I don’t understand all the people saying this will break the game. I don’t think they really understand either.

I really think a lot of those concerns would be quelled by offering paid Faction Changes in addition to Character Transfers.
Is there any plan to introduce Faction Changes? I’m sure a lot of people are concerned about people just trading from one imbalanced server to another to get a taste of the other side of life. Or too many people transferring on/off their server from one side might create an imbalance or leave their server more imbalanced.
Also, for nerds like me who had multiple groups of friends to try and play with, lining up on a single server/faction wasn’t possible. Unfortunately, all the Horde-playing friends on my server are now inactive, but an Alliance-playing group on another server is extremely active. Rather than having to leave behind all the progress we’ve made on either side, it would be great to be able to Faction Change and Character Transfer in one fell swoop. This used to be an option if I’m not mistaken.
Any light you can shed on whether or not this is in the works would be helpful.
And I’m telling you from experience that you’re wrong.
Well, we will see, I’ll be sad if I am proven wrong but I don’t believe I will be, I believe the monetary cost is enough to stop a great deal of people.
Just letting you know that the cost won’t be enough. This has all happened before.
Oh yeah, before there were TONS of them, I even did a few myself, however, I do believe many (including myself) are not in the same financial spot they were 15 years ago, we have actual bills now that have increased over the years and pay has not(or not much) for many.
Dear Blizzard,
Make it possible to xfer a retail toon to classic.
Thank you
not sure if srs
it was before BG’s were released.
When do we get paid faction changes!?
lolwut…?
You’re right, many are in a better spot financially since no longer in school.
