I thought wowup also used sources beyond curseforge.
Wowinterface has year old versions of add-ons. None of it seems to be up to date.
It does, but because curseforge pays devs to host their addons there, it’s likely that other sources are out of date.
It does, but 90% of the traffic is from came from curseforge because most addons are hosted there and only updated there.
The guy who created wowup is actively working to try to create something better than CF, but that’s a long process, if he can even do it.
Overwolf is trying to shut them and wowup.io down, but locking down the Curseforge API.

Creating a platform isn’t too difficult, there’s a blueprint in systems developers have used for over a decade with Homebrew, npm/yarn, rust crates, etc. The problem is getting devs to use the platform after it’s made (or attracting a different set of devs to create alternatives to the big addons to form an “alt universe” addon ecosystem).
That’s what I mean, he’s working with devs to develop something better, but if he can’t get everyone over there it’s already dead in the water.
Imagine having more than five add-ons to manage. I’m using somewhere in the neighborhood of 20ish.
If a company acts like a jerk, people are going to start assuming they are going to act like jerks. No surprise there. That’s what reputation is all about.
And Overwolf needs to get bent.

The only thing that concerns me is that Overwolf will probably try to claim legal ownership of any addons that are uploaded to CurseForge.
