Currently, all four of the Normal (non-PvP) realms are High-Full so it’s not possible to move to one with a Medium or lower population if I don’t want to play on a PvP realm. Can we have at least another Normal realm please?
Typical PVP troll mentality. They just want more lowbies to gank.
Funny on PS largest was a pve server.
Queue times are going to be a thing unless you want dead realms in a handful of months. You’ll have to exercise patience–however difficult that may be–for a day or two.
They’ll open another PvE server if they see the demand for it, and I expect they will at launch or shortly thereafter.
I really don’t understand how anyone could have looked at the original list of 11 servers and think “yea this will definitely be enough.” That goes double for anyone armed with actual sub number information.
The entire player base is paying for that lack of foresight now. That goes double for the people who were excited about the game and made launch plans when the server list was first announced.
Blood elf? LOL… ok buddy
Okay heres my issue:
You announced a “re-sub 2 weeks early to reserve your name” and people PAID MONEY TO DO THIS.
Now, you want people to forfeit the name they PAID MONEY FOR to avoid potentially not even being able to play at all, because you guys cant plan accordingly?
No blizzard. Find a better solution.
Yeah. If they announced 2 more PvE realms by tomorrow and opened character creation up on Saturday for them, that would be awesome.
Seems like ill preperation on the guilds behalf, or the guild members behalf. Not sure why blizzard shouldnt take appropriate actions to secure the servers integrity.
Well gang. Let’s be honest. They’ve already heard your complaints. They will figure something out because that’s what Blizz does. They fix problems. No, it’s not going to be instant or right this second. Ya’ll are just giving yourselves high blood pressure stressing over something that is literally OUT OF YOUR CONTROL.
Relax, give it a day, see if they pop up the servers on Friday or Saturday. They got lots of stuff to deal with, let them work. I mean FFS, they are at work right now trying to make this happen.
Seems like a bunch of ungrateful pricks that haven’t shown any appreciation for the effort they put into this project.
Be like Elsa, Let It Go!
Please stop
That was the plan dude… to release the least amount of servers possible , then add more if needed -_-
why don’t you understand that?
They’ve had two days of EST PVE sitting at Full.
Within hours of the PVP realms going Full they added another server, and then a day later 2 more.
They haven’t even posted a “we see your frustration over Full realms and are working on it”. It’s been dead silence.
I understand that was their plan. It is just a terrible plan. This is evidenced by the fact that more and more servers are becoming all but unplayable for launch day.
It seems like Blizzard’s top priority was to make sure there would never be server mergers at any point in the lifespan of Classic. That is just way too conservative of an approach. If Blizzard was willing to take just a tiny iota of risk we would all be in a much better position right now, especially those of us who thought Herod would be the only legitimate EST PvP server.
Unfortunately Blizzard didn’t believe in their own product enough to get this launch right. 11 servers was never going to be enough and anyone should have been able to see that.
This isnt true. Soaking up a 1 hour queue isn’t the end of the world. Its just a select few that are expected to have an excessive queue,
In my opinion… you would of have that either way.
People like to dogpile on servers because of the fear of missing out…
The whole reason they are doing it this way is to make sure there is as little chance as possible to have dead servers…
All our servers are going to better off in the long run because of this.
Lock character creation on the full servers.

There’s no reason why we should be stuck with servers so overpopulated that the queue system can’t even hold them. The overflow protection mechanism is overflowing? That clearly shows a serious mismanagement of server populations.
Adding more servers now is all well and good but for people like myself it is too late. When the original 11 servers were announced I sent out a wave of messages to friends and family to tell them to all roll on Herod together. Now my proactive plan is completely backfiring. My excitement for Classic ended up betraying me because of a lack of foresight from the devs. That feels awful and I know there are a lot of other people who feel the exact same way.

First servers available will always be the most populated. People aim to play with friends so the first set will always exponentially grow (as you described). So it would follow that the only way to stop it is to put a character creation cap on each server, but that then limits how many friends can play together which isnt an ideal solution. How is that natural process mis-management? What’s your perfect solution for it?
More servers at the risk of underpopulated servers doesn’t exactly seem like a great solution to me. This is purely up to us as a community as to how stubborn we are willing to be to wait for the server to die down and become accessible for us. Or as to how proactive we want to be to re-organize another server. Instead of sit here and complain about something they can’t do anything about. We don’t want layering/sharding, so they’re limited in what they can technically achieve.
I’m not trying to poop on what decisions people have made so far, but sitting and complaining with 20/20 hind sight rather than trying to re-organize the week before release is a bit silly imo. It’s the easiest thing to do, but it does nothing to actively resolve the issue that’s at our feet.
EDIT: I should have also said that the overflow protection mechanism is the weeks worth of notice we’ve been given rather than just waiting for us to figure it all out at launch.
Except it doesnt fix the issue that people paid to sub early to get a name they wanted. They shouldnt have to lose that investment. Blizzards fault for not properly planning, not ours. Yet were there ones paying… literally and figuratively.
Uh… Blizzard already stated that Full realms will be suffering from a queue of “at least several hours”. Their words. And almost every realm is Full now.
