Out with Baine, in with Magetha Grimtotem

Nope, I know how they work. Cheers.

I recently re-played her quests in Thousand Needles in Retail, and after her repeatedly insulting my character and telling me she was going to kill me if I didn’t beat it when the quest chain was finished – after I saved her sorry behind – hard pass on her. If you’re dumb enough to get captured by the Twilight’s Hammer in a backwater Classic zone and insult your savior, you’re too dumb to be a leader.

We need Magatha like I need crippling sciatica in my other leg.

3.0 actually; she’d be the third mustache twirling villain to rise to prominence since Sylvanas had the whole stupid BFA plot.

all of that happened after he was pushed to the edge by all the others. garrosh did nothing wrong he was betrayed backstabbed isolated slandered and by those who claimed to be loyal horde.

He was hardly “Pushed to the Edge” from Cataclysm to MoP, lol

Personally I was hoping Garrosh would be humbled in the Shadowlands expansion, then have some mumbo-jumbo with the realm of death being connected to Azeroth where it results in him reviving and going on a journey to right some wrongs … But nope, they erased him from existence :face_exhaling:

Garrosh, the shamed.

I’d imagine if it could work if they went up to Garrosh and said his actions had a domino effect that unleashed Gul’dan upon Azeroth once more, which brought the largest Legion invasion the world had ever seen … And that Garrosh, picked up the mantle of SHAME that his father once bore, without any act of redeeming such actions.

  • “Your title Garrosh? You are Garrosh, dark harbinger of Gul’dan and the gateway to demons!”

They could’ve wrote it rather well following that angle …

Realistically, that can happen to any Horde leader who shows a bit more grit, oomph and action than Baine though …

It seems to me that for Blizzard, the Horde are just garbage for the Alliance to take out like the trash they are — and for the rest of the Horde to “rebel” against; so that they can endure as the completely mundane & obsolete faction that they’ve become.

This is how I feel about Chromie. I feel like I hate her now. Her quirks used to be interesting, but the more they show the more I get bored.

I felt like Blizzard using her character for being transgender, felt kind of forced & out of place honestly and rather detracts from the character. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

That being said, I didn’t mind her cinematics in ‘Dragonflight’ — but yeah, I feel like getting some other Bronze Dragons to be recognised or used in time-related events would be better too; overusing the ONE character tends to diminish the value of the greater faction or group they’re meant to be a part of (in this case, the bronze dragonflight).

  • 100% a missed opportunity @ getting Soridormi (his prime-consort) to play a major role in saving him from his would-be fate, as opposed to Chromie …

Kind of feels like Chromie deals with more time-related manners than Nozdormu does too – who’s the actual aspect of time.

I enjoyed Kairozdormu but then they just discarded & killed him off in WoD so trivially (Choked out by Garrosh whilst in visage form) — I’d love if he returned as an Infinite Dragon hero, having turned to such to prevent his fate and become a living paradox; with the kept memory of his death, yet being able to endure past it.

Anyway! …

Here’s to more variety of characters being used than the usual typically shoehorned ones :beers:

What in the world are you on about. If that were the case she’d just change her visage form. Take off the tinfoil hat. It’s a gray quality item that offers no protection or stats.

The only problem with Chromie is that they need to extract the ridiculous amounts of saccharine from the character. Because THAT crap got to be tiresome 4 expacs ago.

I used to play Chromie a lot in HotS, but now that the character is oversaturated, and their personality has soured into a more irritating than an endearing one, I just cringe every time I see them in game. I am ready for other bronze dragonflight characters.

He banish her and her followers.

It was a valid target.

Which is par for the course for taurens who avoid conflict as much as possible, even with he centaurs.

Sounds to me being forsaken just means undead who have their freewill back but dont feel like they belong to the world of thr living anymore.

Hopefully Baine lives a long life and gets to leads his people for until the end of WoW.

True! The more her voice becomes annoying too

It’s in reference to a conversation the character had in-game … It’s not a “Tinfoil hat” thing, it’s actual canon. Take the ‘Chill-Pill’ consumable, it’ll help remove that hot-headed debuff.

  • Albeit to give benefit-against-the-doubt — I can at least recognise it was perhaps either a simple misunderstanding or a mere lack-there-of such knowledge, in which case no worries; I’ve been there myself – Happy to let bygones be bygones.

To clarify, I don’t have a big iffy grizzle against it — I just felt like it was out of place & felt like simple political messaging without holding much merit, that’s it … Additionally, if by any chance I did have some huge hatred with them, I probably wouldn’t have said that I didn’t mind their cinematics.

 Ultimately however, I still hold by what I said about needing to give other characters time to shine within their respective subjects — I feel the orcs suffer this too, particularly with Thrall & not giving much other orc characters room to stand in the limelight (without them being villains, that is).

Yeah, I feel like a lot of characters are suffering from not allowing other characters to grow & such, particularly those within the Horde and the Alliance — Their characters start to feel forced amongst particular narratives or come across as mere token-characters rather than those with intriguing storylines.

Yeah it’s such a great idea to give her time to build up an army to try again. Maybe this time she’ll succeed!

Good job, Baine.

No it wasn’t. It’s stated in Tides of War that Camp Taurajo being a training base was false information.

Regardless, valid military target or not, why would you look a parent in the face that’s crying about their dead child and say “he/she was a valid military target.” It’s disgusting.

It was stupid. Baine isn’t the warchief, Garrosh was, and Garrosh said get revenge for Camp T. That was the entire questline for Desolation Hold.

So he exiled people that wanting to do something the warchief approved of…? Explain how that made sense. Nm because you can’t. What would have made sense is sending any brave that wanted revenge to Desolation Hold.

Yeah it’s the name the citizens of Lordaeron gave themselves. There are plenty of undead running around with free will that are not Forsaken. To be Forsaken you need to officially join the faction. Derek didn’t do that until much later. At the time Baine attacked his own faction to rescue this guy that died fighting orcs.

You didn’t have to make up a bunch of crap to get your wish. The lore writers hate the Horde so ofc Baine will never be killed.

And maybe she ends up playing a role in helping defeat the Legion. Oops, thanks Baine.

Like if you want to judge the morality of it all, Cho has an entire play on it. :grinning:

Meh, we would have been fine without it.

Especially considering she dipped and hasn’t been seen again after swearing to guard the McGuffin she stopped the Legion from getting. So yeah, still not reliable for much of anything.

I like how she was supposedly “helping” the champion shaman but it didn’t stop her boys from trying to steal from you.

I’m pretty sure Magatha helped the shaman because stopping the Legion helped Magatha. Kind of hard to take over Thunder Bluff if the Legion owns it.

And? None of that speaks to her leadership ability. Getting only one tribe to like you is a mark against her, no matter how powerful that tribe was able to become.

I think everyone has that one WoW character they irrationally love, Magatha Grimtotem is that one for me. Power hungry and willing to do anything for it I just love her in all of her terribleness.

About the only thing I will give her credit for is not taking the Feltotem route. But that’s not much really.
