Other than “feeling special,” why do people care if others have the same gear as them?

Do you see now why casuals are out of touch with the high level raiding scene? There are significant gear checks to pass in mythic raiding that requires the gear we get. That doesnt exist for Tmog runs on old world content. I have no issue with there being a vendor that sells mythic gear from the previous tier, but you guys should not even sniff mythic quality loot unless you do mythic level work in the same relevant tier.

work = something i don’t enjoy that must be suffered through to get the rewards which I do enjoy.

That is it in a nutshell. They put up with crap they didn’t like, and want you to suffer equally to have what they have.

I want a Ferrari for when I drive up the road to get bread and milk.

I also don’t want to put in the effort myself for it.

It won’t affect anyone else

Please give me Ferraris

I also want other people to pay for my ferrari while they get a toyota yaris for the same price.

What about the people that just buy a full H clear or M clear? They aren’t doing any work for it, getting a bunch of gear based off your hard work. Or is that ok because you are getting paid for it? Not you, as in you specifically. But in a broad sense.

Casuals dont want rewards from raid. They want rewards from the content they choose to have fun doing. Just like you do.

You just dont want other people to get similar ilevel rewards because you want to feel special. You clearly have no idea how the greater community views people like you.

I will make you a deal.

An average raid clear takes about 85 man hours. This typically gets a person 1 piece of loot.

Casuals can do around 800 world quests to equal that 85 man hours, and they can get 1 piece of loot.

This is fair right? Both forms took about the same amount of “time”?

ding ding ding.

Such a laughable argument they keep using.

Because, you did nothing to earn it and have no use for it. Want content are you doing that requires the best gear? Makes no sense.

Deal. Problem solved.

I don’t think it sounds absurd. I’ve been playing this game for a long, long time. For a new-ish player, there’s a lot of content in the world behind us. For others like myself, we can’t really depend on old content to be content when the current content is lacking anymore.

When the game slows down, I level alts, I farm xmog, I farm mounts, I farm pets… But, like, that’s been the bulk of my end game content for many years now and the pool of stuff to hunt is shrinking every expansion.

I bought the game because for all of this time, I’ve liked the game. And I enjoyed the initial experience with it. The first 2-3 weeks of this expac was worth the initial cost to me. But, IDK, end game’s getting stale for some veterans.

If they don’t care about hanging onto me, then, sure, I’m content going my own way. But I see no reason not to voice constructive explanations as to why I’m not really logging in as much as I used to. The game needs something new and something lasting to build upon.

It can’t keep depending on alt leveling and trying to hunt collections from older content, and raiding/M+ progression only appeals to a fraction of the player-base.

Casuals get one piece of Mythic Nathria per month, and it’s random.

Because this is a video game and being able to earn something even if it is slower isn’t about “feeling special”, its about having the option to have eventual access to parts of the game. It’s about payoffs for time and effort investment. The vast majority of this game are the casuals people like you seem to hate so much, but keep it afloat. This isn’t a job. Feeling “special” in a video game is worthless and it hurts no one to give casuals a slow, albeit possible path to more.

You don’t need food other than rice, and you don’t need clothing other than a towel. You have no use for it, being the worthless non billionaire you are.

Not terribly fun when other people starting arbitrarily deciding things for you eh.

But as it is now. You already have the option to have eventual access to parts of the game.

What parts of the game are being denied to you?

I don’t hate anyone. Please stop this over the top dramatic nonsense.

I have never once even implied I hate anyone.

Of course it isn’t. This is also more over the top dramatic nonsense.

But at some point that cap needs to be hit. If a person decides they don’t want to participate in nearly all max level content, then that person should have the maturity to realize they may not get that shiny prize that is rewarded.

What is that point? 200 ilvl? That’s one shot range bg’s, which is casual content. I’d posit that the the gear gap between the haves and have nots is too large.

What is your suggestion?

And I would not call it the “haves” and “have nots”. But more accurately…“the people that do” and “the people that do not”

Getting gear is readily available to the “have nots”. Even on a casual level.

They choose not to do it.

They choose to go into a situation where they may be “one shot”.

cut the gear gap in half. Normal 200, Heroic 206, mythic 212
It’s a video game, if it’s not fun, why would you do it?
My new hunter that I just leveled is at 200 ilvl. BG’s are horrible at 200 ilvl. Do I do them. NO. Would the game be better if I could enjoy that content without subjecting myself to other crap I don’t enjoy. Yes.

That’s a good example, too bad it works against you. Billionaires (either themselves or their ancestors) worked to earn that steak.

You apparently don’t know piss all about history. LOL, go back to school.
