If you really think it’s a non issue you should be fine with old being default right?
I can link videos of it working flawless. Maybe if I dig a bit through some old twitch VoD’s, I can find someone using the old models for an extended play session. Might do that later, might not as it likely wouldn’t change anyone’s opinion anyways.
And that’s fine if you believe that. Everyone should just have the option to see the updated graphics or old ones if they want.
That’s what I’ve been saying from the start. Old models as default, optional toggle for new ones. I even said from the start that I’d probably use the old models because I hate the whiplash like head-bob that the Human male models have when jumping.
Does your video cover every class and an in depth pre and post side by side breakdown?
Not if it’s the same as before
So you’d be fine with old school being default?
if i was playing a single player game, i’d agree but when you are given the choice for how you will appear to other people in the game world, it’s no longer a shared common experience if players can be given toggles to change how your character appears beyond basic stuff like projected textures, detail, that kinda thing. mmorpgs are a shared common experience.
there are some updated female humans who look nothing like their vanilla alternates. not even remotely. some look much worse, some look better, but some are just totally different.
meh last i remember they were out of wack and my friends playing after that noticed those issues.
could be on their end. who knows?
i would be fine with a toggle that actually worked as long as the old models were default and would be used if they diddnt have the new models working correctly.
old being the default would be the best.
Yellow eyes are still yellow eyes. Just less “pretty”.
They look like better versions of their predecessors. It’s what Blizzard always intended but didn’t have the technology (and we didn’t have the hardware to run it) at the time.
Garrisons made me quit the Hell out of WoD pretty quick, so I can’t say I experimented with the animations enough there to say either side is correct. But it doesn’t matter, because you both agree they should not use the new animations if it breaks the old ones and should move on.
If only their opinions mattered then they would have ignored us on several other fronts already. Our observations have made direct impacts already.
I’m not sure what you mean. I’m agreeing with the OP that we should have an option to switch from old to new graphics as long as it doesn’t affect gameplay.
it’s no longer a shared common experience if players can be given toggles to change how your character appears beyond basic stuff like projected textures, detail, that kinda thing. mmorpgs are a shared common experience.
You think a model toggle alters the visual experience between two players more than this? Two people in the Barrens, two vastly different visual experiences.
I’m saying that the default option would be old school and if it does cause issues the toggle wouldbe turned off
So the default is old graphics but we have the option to turn on newer models and textures? Yeah, either way. As long as the option is there.
i think we all are in agreement that old school models as default and if anything messes it up remove the toggle till they fix it.
shared common experience is a good thing but at the same time our computers vary with the output they can provide to the user experience. this is not 2004 where most people had a computer around the same level of hardware.
Vanilla models being default would be a no brainer to me.
As I have said earlier though, I have a preference for that.
That being said, it fits into the spirit of Classic more.
well clearly its important enough that some are asking for updated models.
