Open Question: An Alternative to Queues?

How is flooding the economy with more lotus a bad thing at this point?

Please bring back layering and can you implement faction specific queues as well?

Right? They’re already 3-4x Vanilla prices on many servers because the game simply doesn’t spawn fast enough to meet demand.

Yes pls

I do not want to see layering back in the game at all. A short term fix will create longer term problems.

I’m on Herod, one of the worst servers. I knew what I was signing up for last August when I didn’t transfer to a lower populated server. Transfer off your server or endure the queues I say.

Alow transfers off and lock servers before problems start if people don’t transfer they are fine with their current que

No to layering.

Yes to faction specific queues.

They’re even 2-3x vanilla prices on the lowest pop servers because farmers use the 11-account strategy to get them all and sell them for $ on high pop servers

Absolutely institute layering to help reduce queue times. Modern problems require modern solutions.

YES. These queues are a nightmare. Bring it back.

If layering is introduce for a limited time to see if it does effect the que, would like to see what will happen.

btw Sulfuras ques are getting really bad now.

because in theory, layers can expand as needed to assure 0 queues

Yes, my opinion is that layering is acceptable as a temporary alternative to queues. Do not wait for character transfers alone to address the issue. Authenticity is meaningless if we can’t play the game.

I see people putting the blame on others for choosing a high pop server. While I get your point, what about people, just like me, who were playing on a healhtly medium pop server, with a nice community, scheduled head drops and all of a sudden, in less than 24 hours, we’re having queues because blizzard let thousands of people from a high pop server transfer to the a single server.

I moved from Herod a while ago. Just a few weeks after the launch, exactly because I had to wait HOURS before being able to log in. And now, in the first time since Earthfury is born, we’re having queues.

Please blizzard, do something! I love this game with all my heart! But dang, I can’t afford to organize my whole days around my WoW play time. I want my dad server back!

Well whatever your plans are, closing off character creation is a start but not close to enough. Layering, server cap, server upgrade, free transfers to low pop realms or banning bots, just stop dragging your feet and take action quicker.

ONLY allow transfers to low pop realms from high pop realms. You ruined a great server (sulfuras)

Add layering, it’s gonna mess the server economy up for people but I don’t give a crap. Herod is a 3+ hour queue and you guys keep autokicking people from their positions in the queue to only start the process all over again.

No.

They made their choice.

Transfers wont fix a lot in this case, most likely just make more queues though smaller, simply because a lot of people are sent home and have nothing to do.
So they are playing in game for longer periods and more often than they would otherwise.

Upping the realm cap or upgrading hardware will not help.
There is a technological limit to how many concurrent non instanced persons you can get into an MMO gameworld, that goes for any MMO, not just WoW, if you could program an MMO to put 100k concurrent non instanced clients into the same exact existence, you’d become a rich man/lady selling that tech alone and never need to release your MMO.

They need to kick on the layering and then maybe even bring the per layer pop caps back to what they were before all this covid mess

Bring back layering for the big servers. When things settle down again remove it.
