Onyx Annulet Changes

Horrible borrowed power system and there will be another one in the next patch

By “really nice rings” do you mean more of the same bland + 2 secondary stats rings at a higher item level that have existed in every type of content for a while?

What’s the difference between borrowed power and universally bis item?

How did Havoc get left off this list entirely?
Good thing there’s a few weeks left til 10.1.5 launches so you can add us to the compensation.

I mean they were always double stat boosters but there are some really cool ones. I got one that gives me 900 crit and one that gives me 900 mastery. Just gotta find the right ones to get

I mean, did you see the stats on the Drac legendary? +223 Versatility?

HASTE is more useful, whaaat?

Well, math doesn’t care what you think.

BIS items that come from raid or DG I don’t care about farming and part of the game

Getting a BIS item doing quest and farming something useless what’s the purpose?

Same, I just made a post about this in the Hunter forums.

I am full 437 other than this ring and it is still doing about 12% of my overall damage when I looked at logs today after a few M+ today.

I have tested with other rings on target dummies and always come out a bit higher with the Onyx Annulet.

As a monk main:

I’m personally in favor of having an item from Tier 1 or the next filler patch after, for the whole expansion or at least the majority of it. Old itemization did the same thing. Having items from BWL until Naxx was wild too but it made old content relevant for a long time. But reading this and thinking about my damage as a WW monk makes me sad. If yall cant balance the items that you created, please consider not doing them in the first place because you just make your playerbase mad.

The numbers on Raider.io for example tells alot about the state of the classes right now. Yeah it is balanced but is it rewarding? Sometimes i wish i liked anything else than monk (this expansion, i might add).

I kinda like Enhancement Shaman and Shadow Priest but nothing guarantees their relevancy for the whole expansion and beyond. It’s already a huge pain to try and find specific keys to target pieces each week if i try to soloq for m+ runs as a dps. Imagine doing the same thing as an irrevelant class/spec.

The game is balanced in terms of numbers, but it is absolutely unbalanced in terms of what each class does, which is fine because it’s an MMORPG and we need class fantasy and class diversity. So you either play the RPG or the apm/performance simulator. Kinda off-putting.

I might be wrong but this is how i feel about the current state of the classes.

There is the hunter nerf. They gave us 5% in last update ,now they are taking away 13% of my damage with zero compensation.

Blizzard should have acted on the Annulet’s earlier.

For M+ those rings were BiS for healers and tanks because they gave you a +15/20% dps increase. Losing those rings in Season 2 would have started you off losing 10 to 15k overall dps which you wouldn’t make up with new gear.

2% Damage buff to compensate for about a 5% nerf to WW while high performing specs get complete reworks. It’s clear blizzard doesn’t understand math or what makes playing this game fun. Mid season nerfs are brutal, need to actually target where classes are weakest with the compensating buffs, especially when taking away things that helped cover those gaps.

The fact that blizzard does not understand how this will result in nerfs to classes that are already underperforming due to poorly scaling secondaries says so… SOOOO much about the current development team.

Under compensation for classes that are relying on this ring for massive percentages but still underperforming… and now that’s going away. It’s really something.

Primordial healing stones are doing 12 to 15k hps on heroic raid bosses right now. I fully expect them to nerf them and offer a 2% blanket heal buff as “compensation.”

I said the exact same thing

2 percent on all spells isn’t gonna make up for what is about 10 percent of your dmg overall.

Hopefully they can eventually see that.

Hope this help makes healers not want to use it anymore. I never bothered to get the ring, but during progression healers were told to put it on because the ring helped healers do a lot of passive DPS.

So now that these are no longer going to be used, can we have a Skip to get in the Caverns?

Things have changed, old season items should not be better then new season items.

Can we get some sort of refund/ crests for nerfing a pretty good item like this? For some specs…

Blizzard seriously needs to let healers gain some sort of damage buff from mastery…
