Onyx Annulet Changes

WW monks are the most dumped-on class by Blizzard. Awful stuff.

The Dev’s do know there are 13 classes not 12… Why is hunter missing… again?

Guess my ring is garbo now. Must be making up the catalyst

I’m just confused why this change came so late? It was very clear the Annulet would be BiS going into the new raid, certainly better than the stat stick ring design that seems so prevelant.

Personally instead of nerfing rings like this, I think more interesting rings should be designed. Make them more than stat sticks because the ones with actual effects like

Are not only more interesting, but they’re just so much better than the stat stick rings. And I mean worlds better. 1% Haste or something ain’t going to beat a damage proc anytime soon.

Too many people thought they were caught up with grinding and decided to play some other game until 10.1.5 is released.

Well, they’re only WAY better for specs that scale terribly with secondaries other than crit / vers, which is why specs like ret pally and resto sham are still using the annulet.

The ret rework fundamentally borked the secondary scaling… haste and mastery went from top priority to worthless overnight.

I agree that the ring design needs to be WAY better than the dumb stat stick though.

Why not just let people upgrade tha annulet to bring the ilevel in line with this season? Seems like a way better choice than offering compensation that’s seemingly based on a blind dart toss. RIP ret pally and WW.

Also, can we stop talking about “healer damag” please? What about healer HEALING? What’s happening with healing stones and healer annulets? Nothing? Some tyrannical bosses (Talondras) are so insanely dumb, but you offer healers a blanket nerf… and follow it up with increased damage?

it was never good for casters any way, as a warlock the ring suck badly, so i dont care about the change since i wasnt using it.

Why isn’t this “Artifact” legendary or …

WoW, why’d you even bring it into the game if you were going to make it obsolete, what? 2 weeks later? This could’ve been upgradeable via professions. This ring could’ve been a part of an even bigger story to help the Dracthyr.

Why did you even post this? There are leveling rings dropping in the caves better than this, for some reason, one item you’re fixated on.

Isn’t this just like items in classic? Like onslaught girdle (from MC) being bis for warriors until like AQ?

So what’s wrong with an item from a prior patch having longer (than we’re used to) life expectancy?

It’s been in the game since 10.0.7, a month before the previous tier ended.

For some specs there aren’t. That’s the point. This ring, when set up properly, is better than anything a rogue or windwalker or tank is going to see until next expansion.

The issues with scaling have been explained in detail in posts above, read them if you don’t understand.

Was it really a month?

Could’ve fooled me.

“And it weas scl—” no no. I meant in terms of STORY. This was a thing the Dracthyr were all like “OOOH! FUN! weee! this is super important!” Is it, though?

It’s just unimaginative, lazy, and the same nonsense we’ve been dealing with for years.

cries in it’s worth ilvl 500 on my MM hunter

Patch 10.0.7 was 6 weeks prior to 10.1 and well the extra week until raid launch which was on May 9th.

The above poster has checked before I did. It was 7 weeks before 10.1, which we’re 6 weeks into.

The ring has been out for 13 weeks.

I really thought there was going to be more of a story for the ring. Instead the quest chain is like…two quests? And then you access the Vault and get it all nice and upgraded near instantly.

Made it feel like a regular piece of jewelry that a Drakthyr just dropped more than anything.

People really angry about a temporary ilvl booster. Its good to see this happening. There are some really nice rings to drop from the raid. I dont think much will be affected here.

I mean, this issue goes WAY beyond stats and what this gear does for you in dungeons/raids.

I honestly thought we were getting a storyline to properly bring the Dracthyr into our world. So we can solidify their place in this lore but no.

I’m sorry if some of y’all disagree, but this has been increasingly boring and frustrating and it’s just more evidence that Blizz is actively participating in destroying their own IP.
