Only new PvP (434) gear I see is bloody tokens?

Agreed. Seems the vast majority are ignoring the wpvp junk anyways. We’ll have honor gear soon enough

Yeah it’s useless.

Crafted Embellished PvP Gear (ilvl 450) is currently available. That’s a 26 ilvl upgrade that you’ll keep for the season! Here’s how to get it… (sorry, it’s long… You can check the video at the end of the post if you want it straightforward)

It is using the same token for PvE and PvP that we get every 2 weeks (Spark of Shadowflame), just like Spark of Ingenuity previously. So if you do PvE as a priority, I’m sorry. If you do PvP only and you’re willing to do a bit of questing, here’s what you need to know. You need 2 items for crafting your brand new ilvl 450 PvP items early.

First, the Spark of Shadowflame from the new zone. You can check the information about how to get your first flame here: Wowhead article.. TLDR: You do the quests of the new zone until you get to the quest “Power Unified”, and then complete it. I got my second half of spark from the 1500 reputation quest in the zone, but there’s many ways to get it apparently including the weekly PvP quest. It’s not hard to get the 1500 reputation since the Campaign quests like to shower up with +1000 reputation items.

Second, you need to get a PvP Strongbox. Easy to get from any PvP win (A regular battleground will do!) or buy one from the Honor vendor in Valdrakken. There’s new things in it with 10.1. One of your first box should give you the quest item: Artisan Consortium flier.. Just do the quest, which is to bring it to Valdrakken PvP area and you’ll get 2 items: Trophy of Conquest and Greater Trophy of Conquest. We will be able to buy more of them once the PvP vendor is available for season 2. There’s 2 trophy, because one is for Shoulder/Waist/Hands/Feet, and the other is for Head/Chest/Leg. Remember, we can only craft 1 item right now because of Sparks, but nothing will stop you from buying another Tropĥy for Head/Chest/Leg later on with conquest points. Some of you who do PvP daily probably already got the flyer or trophies, but didn’t understand what to do with it yet, so check your bags and reagent bag if you already got it done. (Edit: Neck, Back, Wrist, or Finger use a Lesser Trophy of Conquest, which isn’t given for free with the Lockbox quest. You’ll have to wait to get that one from the Conquest vendor, Thanks Akatsüki!)

Once you got one of the trophy and your Shadowflame, you can now get to… crafting… wait no… thinking about what you want to craft! (If only it was that easy!)

Keep in mind that you can only have TWO EMBELLISHED ITEMS. You should think carefully about what you want to use since Sparks are limited every 2 weeks. You should think about the embellishment powers you want, and also think ahead about your Tier set bonus. Remember that if you want to use Tier set bonus in PvP, you’ll transform your PvP item into a PvE item with preselected stats. You should decide ahead if you want your 2-set, 4-set or skip it. Remember that Tier set bonus are nerfed by 50% in PvP as well..

I’m telling you that because as a priest, I hate crit, it’s all over my Tier set items, so I won’t get Tier set on slots with bad stats (Probably gonna go Shoulder and gloves, 2-set bonus only…), which leaves me Chest/Head/Leg open. But you can also put embellishment on boots, belts, Neck, Back, Wrist, or Finger which aren’t Tier items.

Visit the Crafting Order area, and look up any of the Vibrant (cloth), Life-Bound (leather), Flame-Touched (Mail), Primal Molten (Plate) item or Infurious (Any armor type) item for your armor type. Make sure to check other items as well. Elemental Lariat is also considered an embellishment, so it’s up to you to think about it carefully.

If it’s your first time checking the Crafting order interface. It’s like the Auction House, but you are asking crafters from your realm to make the item for you, you just have to collect the mats and give a good commission for a quick reply. You search and pick the item. Then you fill out the requirements. You’ll see a first slot for your spark, you select the Spark of the Shadowflame. In the Optional reagents zone below the mats, you’ll check the last box to your right, and that’s where you can put either one of your Trophy. You fill out the rest of the optional slots if you want specific stats (Draconic Missive will make it the stats you want). If you selected a pre-determined items (Infurious instead of Vibrant), you won’t have to add an embellishment items since it’s baseline on it. If you selected a Vibrant items, you’ll need to add an embellishment item. For healers/casters, you could be interested in a Statuette of Foreseen Power, which is the old Precognition PvP talents as a embellishment. As a melee, you could prefer the Figurine of the Gathering Storm, your local PvE jewelcrafter can get it done for you if they did a bit of questing in the new zone.

You don’t have to care about recipe difficulty for the reagents or final result. Even if the items is Bronze quality, it will always go up to Ilvl 450 in PvP and have the same powers.

Congrats on your new ilvl 450 PvP item! I hope you did the right choice…

It’s more work right now because it’s brand new. Catch-up systems will pop up in a few weeks and you’ll be able to get Sparks without going through the questing part from PvP wins.. They already applied a fix for alts, so it’s easier once you have done it once.

If I had to sum it up to the most simple TLDR:
You get a Spark of Shadowflame, you get a Trophy from a PvP Lockbox quest, and you craft an items that allow you to use both of them when you go visit the Crafting order NPC. You can only use 2 crafted items with sparks (embellished: special power), so make the right choice.

Too bad the pvp items i want to upgrade are a ring and neck :stuck_out_tongue:
Have to wait till next week I guess… Sadge.

Well I guess I could have upgraded the leather boots but I’d rather just use the wpvp boots until I can get conquest.

Dactylion posted this in the other thread currently on-going.

It’s an easier path than I used yesterday. Feel free to use my post as you want.

You can only use two embellished crafting items. Should be able to make more than that if not embellished. There is a time gate on the sparks of shadowflame, however.

Great post!
Being thoughtful (forward) of our first slots chosen is important to suggest.
Something cool that looks like it will work similar to Reforging for PVP crafted pieces is the Recrafting option.
Being able to switch/remove Embellishments and our favorite Secondary stats on these pcs throughout the season is super flexible.
Bond with a reputable crafter and the recrafts are usually free.

Glad I am not as consumed with this game as I was in the past.

How to get the new Embellishment Statuette of Foreseen Power or Figurine of the Gathering Storm .

If you are rich, get them on the Auction House. Remember that craft quality doesn’t matter for the power of your item in PvP.

Technically, you can just buy the Dracothyst (and basic mats) and get a crafting order for the Statuette or Figurine. Just compare the price between a full statuette and dracothyst to know if you’re getting scammed by a heavy Jewelcrafter cut. Price will drop slowly.

If you like convoluted currency systems, want to get into the gravy train or just want to know how to craft it yourself, here’s how the main informations you need to know.

Statuettes and Figurines are crafted by Jewelcrafters. They use mostly old mats from Dragonflight + the new item called Dracothyst. Dracothyst is a pricy new item in 10.1 that is transmuted by Alchemist with items dropping from the new zone. Transmute got a cooldown. Herbalist and Miner will get the base item for the transmute (glowspores from Metamorphic nodes) while harvesting around the new zone. The Statuette/Figurine/Dracothyst are all recipes that you get from the new zone with Barter Bricks (which you turn into Ponzo’s cream).

It’s convoluted because you get Barter bricks from quests and events from the new zone (and 2 in Valdrakken, each quest gives 5 bricks). Once you get 25 of them, you can buy an item called Ponzo’s cream from Ponzo in Loamm (city in the new zone), and then exchange that Ponzo’s cream to your local NPC in Loamm (Mistie for Alchemist, Fanilly for Jewelcrafting) for one of the recipes (Either Dracothyst/Statuette/Figurine). Here’s a Wowhead article about it if you’re more visual.

Dracothyst requires 1 Ponzo Cream (25 Barter Bricks) for the recipe, Statuette requires 1 Ponzo cream (25 Barter Bricks), and you guessed it, Figurine also requires 1 Ponzo cream (25 Barter Bricks). It looks hard to farm since it’s not linked to a lot of quests. I got up to 42 this week. It looks like you can farm the Dig maps from elite and events, and you can get Barter bricks from the Dig event. Or from chests around the zone. More info is needed on that.

Once you got the recipes, it’s all easy from there, because you can also get on the gravy train at the AH or become a beacon of hope for your server PvP community. Buying Zaralek Glowspores, then turning it into Dracothyst and selling it (As an alchemist), or and if it’s worth it, turning it into Statuette or Figurine (As a jewelcrafter).

Have fun!

season two hasn’t started yet, bet thankful usually you can’t purchase gear after season one ends… It’ll reset next week.

Read this entire thread so far. This is all way too convoluted for PvP gearing. Yikes.

How? It’s literally not convoluted at all. Did you perhaps read this with your eyes closed?

-Do rated PvP to get Conquest
-Buy Conquest gear

-Do World PvP to get Bloody Tokens
-Buy Bloody Token gear

-Do Weekly PvP quest to get Trophies of Conquest
-Do 2 Weekly PvE quest to get Spark of Shadowflame
-Craft PvP gear

At what point do you find yourself lost? At what point did you decide that the game was too convoluted and that you weren’t even going to try to think?

Then don’t. You are not using your brain. Try to think, it may seem hard, but it will alleviate much of the frustration you deal with in your day to day life.

You can do the PvP world quests which take about 10 minutes tops and walk away with tons more bloody tokens than standard wPvP. You can also loot the supply crates that spawn in each zone for a heap of bloody tokens too. All together that’s only about 30 minutes of playing the game. You can also do rated PvP and get conquest gear which is going to be better than Bloody Token gear.

Wow! Wasn’t that fun? If you take the time to think beyond the circumference of your own head, understanding very very simple things becomes a breeze!

Your self righteous arrogance is noted.
PVP world quests involved being in warmode. I know this is shocking to you as you in all your wisdom should know. WPVP which is a free for all and in most cases people are spawn camping. Yay so much fun.
Try to loot the supply crates. Yup again WPVP free for all and they are camped. You gotta just get lucky for those few scraps. YAY so much fun for little rewards.
Conquest gear for S2 comes Tuesday. Until then its a free for all for a few 434 scraps.
And sometimes that gear does have better stats than haste versa.

Wasnt that fun? WPVP is a useless free for all now for little to no rewards. You are welcome. Noe move along because you bore me.

The crates are horde vs alliance, not free for all. Only free for all are in the designated spots with a pvp quest.

I just made a precog belt.
woohoo \o/
