For those of us that like playing multiple specs, it seems were in an impossible place with covenants.
If i chose the one optimal for my desired main role, such as raids dps, i am gimping myself for things like solo questing, leveling, and off specs roles such as when im needed to heal.
I know this has been covered in regard to swapping them and such but it shouldnt be about switching them, it should be about earning them and being able to toggle as needed/wanted at will such as being part of the talent setup.
Yeah this has been the #1 complaint about covenants the entire time, along with one covenant being exponentially better in say m+ than the others but it’s terrible in PvP (see Vesper totem lol, literally useless in PvP).
Blizzard has decided they don’t care and would rather force an arbitrary choice upon us than have us enjoy our time exploring a covenant based on aesthetics rather than power
this is a weird post that i can only assume is coming from the best part of a world pvp/duel main only player 's heart without intentionally being as dumb as it was
unfortunately being suboptimal by a huge margin in various forms of content because of a forced borrowed power choice is stupid
its just counter productive to the barrier to entry thing they’re trying to abolish by making pve gear bis in pvp
now if you’re a mythic raider you’re likely taking a covenant that’s complete trash in pvp scenarios gating you off of actual competitive play and vice versa
for players focused on ONE form of content with the side goal of completing a weekly +15 though or heroic raid it likely wont matter
Actually, there is… for non S tier classes the wrong covenant will be the difference between and invite and not.
The issue isnt choices having meaning and any of that stuff, its how to manage all of it when youre player that plays multiple specs and types of content.
Raider go this way, mythic go that, pvp… ooops another, and thats all just for Ele… for Resto now its totally different.
Its great if you a one spec mythic raider, not so much if youre not locked to one play style.
I don’t think it’s silly at all to want to optimize my character. It’s something I’ve been doing for 10 years now, never effected my immersion or RPG flavor before, no idea why it’s suddenly this huge problem now… because your decision doesn’t matter. People just pick the best covenant for their preferred spec and form of content, and hope it’s not trash for everything else.
Even on the beta, which is for testing, everything is intently accessible and there’s nothing serious going on, trade chat is filled with the question “which covenant is best for X” because people don’t care to play something that sucks.
Ah just because I’m not concerned about which covenant gives me 700 extra dps I must be a casual LOL.
Ok guy, you can go ahead and cry more about arbitrary choices in a video game. I’m sure the dps you need to prove your worth makes up for your stone sour personality and that will surely get you that raid spot ahhahahahahaah
most of them are more mechanically involved than dps numbers but ya i dont expect you to know that
you don’t actually play the game
ur just a bad durotar bot
i’d say see you in game but idk the next time i’ll be qing 1600 arenas
ironic that you type books crying about how unhappy you are with enhances current position yet look down on others for expressing the SAME dissatisfaction with the covenant system
700 dps on 3k average ST? That’s like a 25% dps loss… If you’re not concerned about a 25% dps loss that makes you a casual, yeah.
Idk that it affects you, I’m not sure. I do real content, so yes a 5% hps difference is MASSIVE to me. It’s literally the difference between timing a key and not.
If all 3 of my dps takes a covenant that reduces their damage by 3.33%, then that is a 10% overall dps loss. In a 30 minute key, that’s 3 minutes. Have you ever missed a timer by less than 3 minutes? I have. I’ve made a timer by 0.27 seconds before.
Saying small damage differences don’t matter is asinine. And if you’re the kind of person who accepts a 3.33% dps loss from covenants, then you’re most likely losing dps in other areas too - u don’t have weapon oils on, you’re not potting, you’re not food buffed, you’re not positioning yourself in anticipation of mechanics, and pretty soon that 3.33% dps loss has turned into a 15% dps loss. All these “small” losses are actually big losses when you put them together
i wonder why that didn’t translate over to pvp better
400 games stuck at an mmr you cant lose points at yet is pretty weird
maybe you should look for a class you don’t suck at so you can stop writing textbook cry posts about enhancement shaman when you’re stuck 1000 points below it’s cap
since complaining about mechanics that blizzard develops poorly is dumb ofc
Bro are you ok? You know there are more things in life than pvp rating in wow right? You’re not offending me like at all. I play for fun but I’m also competitive, I’m glad your gladiator clap clap, its not hard. Chill out man we are all friends!
