I think SoM was poorly timed… since tbc had basically just come out… and frankly didn’t have enough changes to make things interesting.
I think a bare minimum would be adding new loot to the loot tables.

I’m waiting for Shadowlands F R E S H.
Yea, SoM was WAY too soon, I heard a lot of “I’d love to play but we JUST did it”
Totally feel you… I have a 70 lock and every time I log on I ask myself what am I even doing… run around in circles for 2 min then logoff lol.
No. Vanilla is just world of warriorcraft
One thing I’d add with gear is that stat wise raid gear shouldn’t change that much from raid to raid, instead it should be the bonuses that are what you’re after. I hated getting one set just to toss it away when the next raid came up.
classic BFA is where the money is at
Ironically more popular than WoD lol
WoD classic
I miss Ashran, Holinka was sucha great game dev!
said no one literally never ever
i remember creating a twitter account for the first time exclusively so i could complain directly
I actually liked ashran /shrug
oh no you didnt…
I’m not a big pvp person, but ashran was actually pretty fun. I enjoy the pvpve mix
Some very simple changes would make every spec viable in a raiding environment. Just that would draw a lot of players.
And I mean very simple changes, since Vanilla content isn’t exactly super complicated…which is a good thing. It should be about the experience.
But Blizz tends to do the opposite of what they should, so they’ll go even further in making it an e-sport and driving away the masses. And the more ‘challenging’ the content, the more players have to min/max which means those simple changes to make specs viable become infinitely more complex.
Anyway, they could make it work and make it very appealing. They just need to have the correct design philosophy that draws in the most players.
Aka they should rehire Kevin Jordan because his design philosophy is what we want, except refined with the knowledge of past mistakes.
It’s so sad how out of touch these companies are with their customers. Like Disney for example, “we had no idea an obi wan show would be so popular! People complained about the sequel trilogy!”
Like come on… blizzard… put in a little money and you could have the most popular MMO on the market instead of zero effort look we failed.
Yes but not on “Blizzard” servers. Basically because “Hosted by Blizzard” really carries no weight any more. If this was 2004 Blizzard I would not hesitate to break out the CC and buy a new account and start over from ground zero, but 2022 Blizzard demonstrates that they don’t care about the community at all.
You know its bad when private servers offer a more “vanilla” experience than actual blizzard.
Nope. Classic + is the only option to get me to come back.
New raids, new dungeons, class balancing, arena’s, rated bg’s.
Anything that’s just old content again isn’t going anywhere. They need to produce new content like none of the expansions ever happened.
I’d love to do it all again but honestly Classic is a bit boring and I’m not sure how much I’d love to redo that part.
Playing progression servers disincentivizes production of Classic+. Why create novel content when the playerbase readily accepts rehashed retail expansions?
I would love a “live service” style classic +, with frequent content updates, rotating raids/game modes, seasonal style things. Something to make Azeroth feel like a shared world like it did back in the golden era. And obviously bot protection and actual gm management. Highest priority though would be “finishing” the classes. Really diving into the Seal/Judge system, adding depth to it, embracing seal twisting like they did with TBC. Stuff like that, but with every class.
Short of a full on classic +, no i had my fun with classic but time to move on for me.
leveling was fun with friends. probably do it again with everyone selecting random classes.
