i just think most people donât understand how insanely unhealthy it is for a spec to exist that can kill people in under two (sometimes a single one) globals through cooldowns without cross or setup while also having access to some of the most powerful utility in the game like spellwarding, jotp, freedom, bop, or sanc
and powerful offheals to boot
i know itâs a meme that ret paladins are routinely played on the lower end by unintelligent people but itâs just a meme⌠right? like people arenât this blatantly bias?? right???
like getting new career highs that are over 1.2k higher than youâve ever dreamed of being isnât symptomatic of everything âjust clicking rightâ or âu have to play different, rets not just a free kill anymoreâ which is dishonest in itâs own right since it never was anyways, ret was slightly weaker in comparison to other mdps but still playable, and viable
the prevalence of shadow also made it more difficult for ret specifically since it had an answer for most stuff ret wanted to do anyways
like you canât justify someone popping wings off rip and just killing people through 2/3m cd defensives with peel/support as if they didnât exist without any setup at all while also being functionally immortal at the same time

Nah, you know whats insanely unhealthy? Training ret in arena for the last four months because they couldnât do anything.
Also all of the classes I listed above do the same damage or more and some can kite to infinity.
Where did they resolve mobility issues?

LMK where you are seeing rets 1 shot people in a single global still. Go watch some Vanguards videos, heâs not even doing that. If he was, all of his arenas as the #1 ret pally in the world would end in the first two mins, which they arenât lmfao

are you comparing yourself to the best ret in the world while also simultaneously implying that retâs nerfs were unjust because other classes exist, and thus moving goalposts from pre-nerf ret to discussion of post-nerf ret?
is that what youâre doing? that sounds like itâs in awfully bad faith and just coping with the fact that your spec carried you higher than you deserve to be in rss and canât handle the cognitive dissonance with the fact that you arenât in fact a 2.2 player, blizzard just didnât listen to the litany of feedback saying it was capable of doing 450k in a single jv, or that itâs far too tanky and can passively live through cooldown commitments without using itâs own, or that jotp is at the same level as craven in terms of how busted it is with the frequency of availability to judgment that modern ret has
ive seen absolutely no players who have feedback worth respecting do anything but say how out of line ret is, including current glad ret players
maybe instead of implying everyone else is whining and complaining âbecause ret is finally good and they canât handle itâ you should improve your own gameplay instead

Maybe theyâre forced to use cooldowns now cause⌠I donât know, Ret doesnât fall over like a toddler anymore and is actually playable?
Go play some arenas and let me know how fun it is to get kited/ccâd the entire time your wings are up by the various classes I named above, since ret is so easy.
Let me know too how fun it is to bubble and have it dispelled 1 sec in, or have blessing of freedom dispelled/spellstolen with zero divine steed charges up and slows for days.
The people crying and complaining about ret post nerf are the same people who trained ret the last 4 months thinking they donât need to change their playstyle.

Elemental until the lasts two weeks nerfs could literally one tap people even at 2300. Healers going in the open, stormkeeper goes off and they shaman just has to target focus the healer and they die. Arms can also kill you in 3 globals, rogues can do the same in a single duel, ww in a single legsweep. I dont know what your point is.

Because its true. You just focus the ret they have no defensives it seems you didnt do any pvp.
They blow bubble and they die next go because ps or bark wont save you against spear avatar sharpen unhinged or deathmark.
I mean if you didnt focus the ret good I guess but that was the most easy way to win. Or youd rather go thru parry rally banner dstance spell reflect ip spam impending victory over hitting shield of vengeance?
