Ok, who still DOESN'T want the ripcord pulled and why?

If they were to do a Jailer raid in 9.2 why would there be a need for a 9.3?

Yeah most just want the covenant class abilities separated from the covenants to use as talents and keep covenants as aesthetics mainly so they can stick with the look they like .

You know, just let us have both. Introduce “free agents”. As a free agent you can switch between soulbinds of different covenants but you can’t get certain perks being part of a covenant gives you. If you decide to be part of one specific covenant, you get increased anima rewards and what do I know. That way people who want to identify with a certain covenant get something for loyalty and those who don’t care about covenants but only the powers get what they want as well.

I’m against pulling the ripcord entirely cause I’m a single target frost mage and went venthyr for this entire patch meaning I abandoned all other specs/situations in favor of single target frost and tbh I want to be rewarded for that loyalty in a way. Can’t explain why. Probably because it’s partly been a pain in the behind.

because people will quit if it’s pulled, the game is deliberating over making choices and when choices lose meaning then there is less game (EDIT: less game -> less motivation to play)

better if they keep trying for more parity

Far more people have quit over it not being pulled than the miniscule amount that will leave over something being opened up that they can choose to ignore.

You’re doing this thing where you’re taking somebody saying “I’d like cheaper gas prices!” and turning it into “WOW SO YOU WANT SOCIALISM AND FREE EVERYTHING HUH?!?!?!”

It’s just boring.

Interesting that you, a hunter, landed on Night Fae.

I wonder why

It is just too late now, that is not going to happen.

This expac is such a drain to keep up with , especially if your limited to playing time .

Sure, coincidences don’t exist, am I right?

There sure are a lot of coincidences ITT when it comes to the people flaming Mythic Raiders for pickling the “same cloned BIS” while also having the “same cloned BIS” covenants.

I didn’t flame Mythic raiders though, I flamed the people who refuse to do anything else that a streamer or mythic raider told them was the best to get.

So non-Mythic raiders that pick the BIS covenants?

Hey, do you mythic raid?

I’m trying to see what your point is right now, at least I have one. Whether it’s wrong or right is debatable. That’s what discussion is.

You’re just straight up coming at me with offense like I did something personal to you. Relax.

Maybe the reason a lot of this BIS are full is because they just feel like they match flavor wise? My Pally is Kyrian because I RP her as devoted to helping others and bringing good to the world, what you kind of expect for someone who follows the light. My Hunter is Night Fae because it just feels the best for a hunter RP wise. Just a thought for some of these numbers, they just happen to coincide with RP flavor

Probably the people who have a fetish for “Hit me again I want to feel like I earned it.”

You just went at a whole demographic of players for picking the best covenant though?

For some? Sure, there’s an argument to be made for that. It does make sense that paladins would be overwhelmingly Kyrian, or that druids would be overwhelmingly Night Fae for thematic reasons.

But then you have cases like Vengeance demon hunters being overwhelmingly Kyrian, Fire and Arcane mages and all warlocks being overwhelmingly Night Fae. You’d probably expect most priests to follow the paladins and be Kyrians, but they’re mostly split between the Necrolords and Venthyr, as are shaman. Where’s the thematic reasoning for that?

When we’re talking 50% or more of a spec being in the same covenant that has no thematic resonance (or worse, the opposite thematic resonance) with them, that very strongly suggests that people are choosing based on power over all other concerns, and cases where a covenant’s themes do line up with their popularity for a class are coincidence rather than cause.

Wait so you want a video game to be like real life? Why not go play Sims lmao

To be fair, in the Sims I can have a well paying job and a house…
