Ok, I've seen enough of kul'tiras and zanadalar, can i have flying now?

Such diminution. That’s a bit like calling a redwood forest a quite woody salad.

Try sense of wonder. And a salable sense of wonder at that. How many makers, from snake oil to genuine tech magic, have sought to pedal a sense of wonder?

Blizzard figures out how to bottle it, but instead of adding it to the cart, they throw it out the window, reprimand their paying customers for enjoying it and proceed to hand out chores instead, letting us know that we will get what THEY say we will get when THEY say we will get it.

Seen enough of Kul’Tiras and Zandalar? Ready to fly? You will be informed when you get to want that. And then you will be informed what chores you have to do first.

If only Blizzard could have been nothing more than a mediocre company staffed with bored coders looking for a paycheck and more assets to flip.

A moment of game design brilliance and all I can do is miss it while wondering how to get five pixels over that rocky ledge or just go back to the city, because why bother.

The next world quest is going to be just like this one, except that I can probably reach it.

Why worry. Why wonder.

They had it in their hands. And they threw it away.

Okay, are you arguing that flying is mechanically fun, like driving a car is? You know, with accelleration, breaking, having to pay attention to things like traffic, the road, speed limits, etc.? Because if it was mechanically fun, like I said in my first post that I’ve played other games where it was, then I’d find flying fun. Right now, all it is is free x/y/z axis movement at an binary “moving/not moving” speed, where gravity doesn’t exist, and enemies ignore you if you’re just a few feet over the ground.

Now do you understand what I mean when I ask if people think flying is fun? Not the speed you get around the world. Not the sightseeing aspect. But actual flying that could be much more interactive?

But no, you put up strawmen and pretend I’m some bogeyman out to remove flying and keep it out of your hands. Stop making up an argument to attack instead of addressing what I am saying. In fact, don’t bother. I don’t care anymore. You guys like to sightsee, and that’s fine.

they only release flying when we have done every single damn thing on the current continent and then release flying simultaneously with a new area that doesn’t have flying at all

its just straight up trolling the playerbase

Like I said fun is subjective and no answer any of us will matter to you because you will just come back with the same response you have been and just because you find something to be a covenience doesn’t mean others don’t find it fun and if you come back with your regular response of it is a convenience but that doesn’t mean it is fun again it will just confirm you are a troll.

Driving is fun for the ability to hit the open world seeing the sites going new places and new roads to travel. Driving is more then the mechanical aspects it is the journey to that next destination and the stops along the way .

This. I actually went back and did the Pathfinder nonsense. It took forever but because BFA is so awful I am finding myself in WOD and Legion among other old content.

Exactly. When you drive to and from the same place every single day, it stops being fun. We don’t call that “going for a drive” anymore. We call it a daily commute. That is what riding in WoW is at this point: a virtual commute. The last thing I want after getting home is yet another commute inside the game.

I wonder what the requirements for Pathfinder part 2 will be. The first part took forever, so hopefully the second is a tad faster lol.

Exactly we don’t want the point a to point b travel to do wqs (work) we want to see the sights explore what we can’t get to from the ground to get up to the point were we see beyond the horizon . If they can’t or won’t give us what a lot of people would consider good and meaningful playable content then let us at least enjoy the one thing everyone agrees is still amazing about the game and that is the art work. Best way to truly enjoy that is from the air.

I can’t believe this is still being argued. I want to fly. You want to stay on the ground. You can stay on the ground, but you still think you know best for what other people want. The emperor has no clothes.

It’s like the pro fliers are going we want players to have choices that are meaningful to them as individuals and the anti flyers are going our way or no way.

Honestly it will continue to be argued until the servers shut down. Barely anyone talked about flying until Blizzard came into it with pathfinder

So are anti flyers really just white nights blinded with the duty to defend the game at all costs?

Either that or Devs on alts that can’t comprehend that people don’t thing grinding for QoL aspects of a game or being told what we like isn’t fun but what we give you on this set schedule and what you must do during this set schedule is fun .

No that’s called work and these devs have added stuff to make the game feel like a 2nd job. I work 55 hours per I don’t need another one . I need the ability to come into wow and enjoy the game how I want to .

Be it dungeons or raids, doing battle grounds, flying around and checking out spots I have never been and other stuff that I like to do .

These white knights seem to be like “We dont need flying - change my mind” but are completely unwilling to listen to all the people attempt to voice why we want flying. They pretend to be open minded but have already made their mind up.

I have yet to see any of these white knights give a reason why we shouldn’t have flying. Best I have seen is immersion in which they refuse to see immersion can be both for and against flying. The only other excuse I have seen is it hurts PvP - and the white knights refuse to accept the fact that the majority of players dont like PvP. They also will not agree to limit flying in WM only…

I very rarely do that. My friends don’t either. If you do, then fine, but don’t assume everyone just zones out while flying.

Instead of flying I would like wow on my phone :joy:
What? You guys don’t have phones?

I truly don’t mind doing the questing or the achievements to get flying. The thing that really pisses me off is that they want me to do a Dungeon in order to qualify. If they would make a special solo dungeon, that would be fine, but I HATE doing things in groups. Used to be fine, but the last several years, all the groups willing to do anything are full of pre-pubescent thugs who want “nothing but the best or we’ll boot you” or they simply dis you and complain about/make fun of/laugh at you the whole time. I stopped the group thing years ago because of this, and don’t want to be forced into a group just to obtain flying status. Give me a few extra quests or something, but these Dungeon/Group requirements suck.
