Oh would you look at that

Yes!

So you want housing with even less functionality than the last time we got housing? Weird stance but you do you.

We never got housing. And housing is about personal expression, in a way, like transmog. It’s not meant to be for quests and professions.

I always suggest checking out SWTOR Strongholds for a basic understanding of housing, how it works with decos and trophies, etc. Or look at what Wildstar had. Also a great example.

What??? It is actually getting player housing? I might need to replay it.

Actually, we did. It was a failed experiment when we ended up owning a farmhouse in Mists of Pandaria, but it was still housing nonetheless.

There was another time Blizzard had made another attempt at player housing that wasn’t our Garrisons. I… think. I might have to re-watch a Taliesn and Evental video.

Blizzard hammered a really hot nail into a coffin and gave us Garrisons. Which kinda forced everybody into a introvert perspective. Extroverts like myself didn’t like this. Some hated it.

It sucked. I don’t want to do that again.

The farm wasn’t housing. It was questing for mats.

ESO has housing out the wazooo and an amazing game.
Play both. Play them all.

I wouldn’t call that housing at all. Garrisons I can see being an early housing attempt, for sure, even though that attempt wildly missed the mark for what player housing should theoretically be; but, the farm was closer imo to those old farmville/farm sim games than it was to housing.

And player housing is still weird.

Buy a real house. Fill it with real things.
Play the sims in it.

Boom. Double player housing.

And player housing is the absolute worst feature of any MMO that has it. We are adventurer’s , we belong out in the world doing heroic deeds , not sulking away in a house.

Man don’t you know people wanna play around in their own basement while they play in their parent basement? Lmao

Reminds me of World of World of Warcraft

Technically GW2 has always had a “player instance” that served as their home where players could customize it ever so slightly. Though, I’m not sure the extent of this new expac that comes out in august and allows more robust housing.

Well, go play GW2 or even FF14, they have housing if it’s that important to you. I don’t see it happening in WOW anytime soon… I don’t think enough people care about the idea.

This constant begging for housing is so tiresome do you not think about possible content constraints that would create. And would cause many other development delay even though they have an army now it’s not enough to sustain this many features. Also, it’s better to do what dragonflight did play it safe and keep the retention number high and on the same level. But clearly y’all want them to gamble on something rather or not it will succeed.

Garrisons had decos and trophies tho. So did the farm. You had your cake and then declared “this isn’t a cake, where is my cake” rather than eating it. The number 1 complaint about the player housing were how they made you disconnected from all the other players. Because it was just you and anyone you specifically invited in, surrounded by a bunch of npcs. Something that “real” player housing would also share so why would blizzard work on a feature just like the other 3 times they tried to have it when the players have shown each and every time that they do not like it because it does not align with their specific niche vision of what “housing” should be?

This isn’t DnD brother. We haven’t been adventurer’s sinc vanilla.

Right. And Farmer Yoon clearly didn’t have any in-game dialogue stating he didn’t give us his farmhouse.

Nope, we’re just going to dismiss that. I’m just trolling, right?

EDIT: Actually, I don’t want to hear it. Having to type to you is already a huge mistake.

The Home Instance is as much player housing as the Garrison was. Not really at all.

You don’t seem to comprehend what housing actually is in an MMORPG, so I don’t even know why you’re here acting condescending towards people. Even Blizzard said it wasn’t housing. Nor was it advertised as housing. Nor was it housing. And anyone who tries to claim a farm plot is housing truly has no idea what they’re talking about.

I gave you examples to research before you responded again. You clearly did not and wish to stay in the dark. So there’s no further conversation to be had. People don’t want people who know nothing about M+ commenting on it. Same holds true for MMORPG housing.

No one said you were trolling. The farm was not housing. Not even remotely close to what housing is in an MMORPG.

It was solely there for mats gathering and quests.

No one got upset here. So I’m not sure what the issue is.
