I think player housing is a poor use of resources.
They’re profile is hidden to hide their behavior. They have a history of belittling people. A mod can see it easily. They just don’t get flagged.
However, my post will get flagged because it’s “upsetting” or “inappropriate”. They have multiple accounts or friends that enjoy that kind of behavior.

How would player housing work in wow? Will it be instanced for each player like the garrisons were, and you never see anyone else or their houses unless you get invited to their party?
Or is there a housing “zone” that you portal into, where again, you only see the people who live in that instance of the zone?
This begs the question, what do people want to do with their house if basically they are the only ones who will ever see it?
I’m not against housing, necessarily, I just don’t understand what gameplay it would provide. Set up some trophies and decorations and… then what?
It seems like a lot of developer resources for something only each player would ever see, while draining the world of players into these isolated housing instances.
I just don’t get it. It makes more sense to me in a single player RPG than in a mmo.

I think if they do work on housing, it won’t be a priority project. I honestly don’t think it should be either. They can, for the next 6 years, work on it bit by bit, so that people understand their content isn’t being neglected for it.
Instanced housing does work well. There are public listings, keys you can give to friends with different permission levels, etc. Wildstar had instanced housing that also allowed for neighbors that were your friends, so you got to choose who was there.
For a while, Old Republic had leaderboards for decorating, as well. They removed it, because it wasn’t healthy for the game.
But housing isn’t just about what chairs and tables you put into it. Housing is also a way to display your achievements with trophies and decos from all different types of content to show off to others. But you don’t need open world chaos to show it off.

To be honest garrison was a step in the right direction but, as everything in life, sometimes does not work great by the first try.
They should keep the garrison idea with lots of changes but the base idea is there, forgothen at WOD.
I have noticed a correlation between hidden profiles and disruptive posters.
I wish we could ignore an entire account, because frequently when you go to manually mute/block one of them, there are 6 alt’s with the exact same name. It’s really tiresome to go through and have to manually block all their forum troll alts.
If I want to block someone, I want to block the person, not that specific avatar.
Hopefully with the War within, and the move to Warbands, we could have a forum Warband as well, with a single unified post history tied to the battle.net account.
