People that don’t want a fresh oceanic server are people that have bought obscene amounts of gold online and are in danger of losing their houses and just want others to suffer with them

this or they work for gold sellers and dont want fresh so more people have to buy the pools of gold they hoarded

Gold sellers will make more money on fresh then old servers, guess they don’t teach supply and demand in primary school.

He’s not talking about the survival of the server, he is talking about the fun that is had while playing WoW during one of these periods.
- Populated areas, allowing for more grouping and harder quests to be completed.
- Low level battlegrounds.
- More people to doing low level dungeons.
There are other examples but you get my point.
Having fresh servers may damage existing servers temporarily, however the enjoyment for playing them for the people that want them (for however long it lasts) far outweighs it.

who cares, people want fresh, you can stay on your current server and it doesnt affect you at all. why do you care if OCE gets fresh or not ?

It will affect them. Their servers will lose population, making it more difficult to find groups for dungeons/raids and BGs.

IF he is currently on OCE sure, but it will only help the other OCE servers in terms of BGs and arena queues.
Raids and dungeons may change SLIGHTLY, as some might roll current OCE servers, others will just roll US fresh/not play.

You’re 100% right, I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve played on private servers purely because of fresh and I know I’m not alone in that. Fresh is the best time to play on a server because of all the things you said plus another 1000 reasons but the problem is Blizzard is known for dropping the ball on a lot of things classic related and the main one is servers.
If Blizzard said hey we’re releasing Fresh Oceanic Servers and if the population hits a certain % we will offer free transfers to XYZ server for each faction and close the server I would 100% be on board and support it, But the problem is Blizzard won’t do that , They left felstriker and a lot of other servers die and refused to do anything about it because they wanted to milk Paid Transfers as long as possible.
This is what what most likely happen if they do -
- Server launch will be populated as hell, the server will be full and everyone will have a great time .
- Three months in the main targeted audience will start to lose interest because they’ve fallen behind, Similar to what had happened at the start of classic.
- Server will slowly start to lose players not purely because the fresh crowd has given up but just a general lul between Phase 1 and Phase 2 , friends quitting or even just people getting a new job
- Server will dwindle and the top end players will move off to other servers for competition or easier to replace members and gear toons up.
By this point you have an issue that Blizzard wont want to fix which is population control Most players will have 2-4 characters that they play and will have to fork out $34 per character they want to transfer off to be able to actually play them and it is easier to just quit then reroll.
Now I know ill get a generic " But if that happens who cares, People got to have fun for 2 months " post but the issue is it won’t just hurt your server it will hurt others also - Arugal only has 2700 Alliance raiders while Yojamba has 1400.

Agreed its a risk for OCE if the server will stay healthy or not, but for many it will mean wether they even play wrath or not entirely

Not only that… those of us who go fresh are essentially forced to turn our back on the OCE battlegroup. Removing more players from the pool for instanced, cross realm PvP.

Also think there should be an OCE. The idea that every server needs to be mega has warped the perception of what’s needed.

+1 Oceanic Fresh.
Wasnt able to play a lot of TBC but now have more time to play and wotlk was my favorite xpac. So far behind everyone else and want a fresh start for an even playing field and to play with others who want the same thing. I will not go back to a high ping server as I can definately notice the difference.
We will miss out on the same experience US and EU get just because?

+1 for a fresh OCE server - this forum should not have even been needed. There are a lot of people (including myself) that will not even consider playing WOTLK if there is no fresh server, hence the argument on diminishing the population on Arugal is obsolete. There is nothing better than having a group of friends and starting the experience on a new server. Even if the population does diminish over time, it is worth having the magical experience
