I have never made a post in any forum throughout my WoW experience. BM has been my main since the beginning for me. I have never felt so let down by my personal M+ push experience. The only thing that has kept any enjoyment for me was I know that the Single Target was still highly valuable, for raid and mythic plus. This has now been taken away. I no longer can Priority Target mobs in high keys, no longer useful on Tyrannical weeks and I will no longer be one of the top damage for my guilds queen progression. We just got to the final boss this week, you are nuking a favorite spec.
Yep. The ST nerfs are so large that these changes as a whole actually make BM even worse than it already is in M+ because now we wonât have prio/boss damage.
Yeah BMâs terrible M+ performance severely demotivated me this season to do much. I tried Marksman but playing a physical class with cast times just feels wrong.
âOh Iâm sorry you arenât a race to world first player so we donât care about your progression.â
-Blizzard
The fact they couldnât wait a few weeks until the anniversary patch and are going to gimp us briefly until then is just beyond nonsensical.
Any âdamageâ that was done by BM having great single target has already been done during the race to world first. Just leave things be until you give actual tuning that we do need. These half measures are dumb.
Yeah letâs tweak classes slightly a few weeks away from major changes. Thatâs a wonderful idea!
Iâd prefer the major changes to come early instead. How frustrating and we already know this stuff is going through because they rarely rarely pump the breaks on bad ideas unless itâs non combat QoL stuff.
This is actually unreal. While our aoe has been awful, we could at least be needed in raid and do slightly below at keys but now weâre useless in raids and still below average at keys. PLEASE blizz rethink this. There has to be another way to buff aoe without touching ST. Previous expansions BM has always had to choose between the two, why not still make that the case. Keep our BM build only ST and our aoe build buffed but average ST like it always has been.
Over 100 comments telling the devs just how atrocious this decision is and silence in return. Tells me everything I need to know. They donât care. And so I shall vote with my wallet and Unsub. Unlikely to do anything in a vacuum but personally feels better than giving more of my money to these devs.
Destroy the spec then wait until November for the fix, and just watch as the praises come in.
Itâs nothing new for Blizzard as they have a long track record of announcing a change that everyone hates. Then after all the hate posts they flip their decision and are suddenly the greatest company ever again.
BM is now not based on Basilisk collar. IMO it should have been fully replaced by a base damage skill. The changes are a step in the right direction.
Fire the person in Charge of this or move them to another spot.
They have O clue what they doing
They have 0 Clue on how to buff anything
They probably donât even Know what a BM hunter is
Itâs one step forward, but two steps back.
Nerfing Basilisk Collar is fine, but the buffs to KC and the Pet do not compensate the BC nerf. So on the whole this a huge ST nerf, to the extent that BM with no longer even be brought to Raid.
I have to say that Iâm quite disappointed that Blizzard is shipping some of the changes to Beast Mastery without the corresponding other changes that actually make the Anniversary Patch changes somewhat viable or exciting for Beast Mastery.
These changes, if they go live, effectively take away our only strength right now - Single Target damage - and relegate the spec to being quite literally the lowest performing spec in both Single Target as well as Cleave/AOE.
This is unacceptable. The recourse should be to revert these changes and package all of the Beast Mastery changes together with the Anniversary Patch. If youâre concerned with Beast Masteryâs single target, then Iâm sure thereâs a better way to hit that without effectively forcing a large percentage of the player base into playing a completely different spec, where they likely donât have the gear / itemization to make it viable as theyâve spent the first month and a half of TWW gearing BM for ST / Raid.
This is disappointing.
At the bottom duh. https://youtu.be/n5GfNlZGqno?si=YyAXXhkhjG0iYBsm just replace warlock with bm hunter
EU on the 9th the 8th for US
Why? There is no reason for this. amazing just amazing⌠such a sad thing⌠Do they not know what they are doing?
You can always vote with your wallet, thatâs what I did.
Hunter main since Pandaria mostly BM, never SV as I want to play ranged and not melee. To each their own.
But this, this is beating a dead horse and neutering it while itâs down. W T F?
Previously we had tentative hopes that the Anniversary patch rework would give BMâs a small increase in AoE so weâre able to do something in M+ aside from just prio dmg and hope the others can carry the group thru trash. This change actually removes all desire to play and wastes all the gold and materials and crests I have spent gearing up for WEEKS.
Player since 2004 and very seriously considering unsubbing and turning my back on Blizz. Games are meant to be fun, only fun here seems to be the Devâs laughing as they trash BM hunters.
BM is already in a bad way this tier with pets threat being buggy and getting one-shot in delves, now this? This is insane.
The Oct-9 changes have to be pulled, they cannot go live. Wait and do a proper job with 11.0.5 (those changes are incomplete and still need work, i.e. buffs and mechanical changes).
Pack Leader - it has gotten no love despite the massive Dark Ranger rework - it needs help. Most notably the capstone has to be delinked from Call of the Wild and linked to Bestial Wrath.
The following changes are suggested:
- Pack Coordination - Attacking with Vicious Hunt increases the damage of your petâs next basic attack by 50%
- Beast of Opportunity - Bestial Wrath now also summons a Dire Beast
- Pack Assault - During Bestial Wrath your Dire Beasts will now obey your Kill Command and can benefit from Beast Cleave and Kill Cleave
BM Damage Profile needs to be looked at (and whoever is doing it now needs firing because they clearly donât know what they are doing).
(1) The Kill Command buff is not enough (why 18%? the nerf you put in on July 31 that we all told you was wrong was 20%).
(2) Beast Cleave duration has to be increased up to a baseline 8s. The current 6s duration is predicated on a rotation that only has barbed shot and kill command in itâŚthat is no longer true, now explosive shot and dire beast and Black Arrow if you play it are in there, and an extra GCD is needed.
(3) Beast Cleave and Kill Cleave need their modifiers buffed again (you gave back 10% prior to raid release, another 10% is needed).
When it comes to 11.0.5 changes you have also overlooked the most basic consequence of your change to Barbed Shot becoming an 18s CD and 12s duration, namely less Bestial Wrath uptime.
Barbed Shot procs the following talents: Barbed Wrath, Stomp, War Orders, Brutal Companion, and Pack Coordination for Pack Leader. Fewer procs will mean reduced damage from how the spec currently plays and it is not being given back in any of the other changes. Barbed Shots CDR should be 15s (up from 12s) and Stomps damage should be increased by 50% probably in order to bring this back into a decent spot.
Do better Blizzard.
Your Oct-9 changes will kill BM and move it to the literal worst DPS spec for both single target raid boss damage and mythic plus cleave/priority target damage. Do not push the Oct-9 changes live, pull them and focus on improving the 11.0.5 rework we are getting (and desperately need).
If they are going to push this live they should push all the changes.
