All of this didn’t compare to untold hundreds of posts about MSV. But BM mains didn’t care because they knew they’d be on top better with one spec that was trashed for almost a full THREE xpac cycles.
It’s almost like old SV mains are getting revenge on BM or something.
So to apply the MSV revenge theory, this is deserved. To be fair, the spec had it good for so long, even to get hissy when SV or MM does too good.
The class has 3 specs, we’re all hunters. This is weird.
Feels like a ‘apply nerf now to make the small buffs in November look better than what they are’ scenario.

This is your solution to BMs problem Blizzard? You make it the worst ST spec in the game and barely buff our AoE? How is this progress, either put in ALL the PTR changes, or none of them, this little bit here and little bit there is only killing the class.
I’m really sad, our only strength gets nuked for a little bit better aoe, makes us even more troll to play in M+ over MM, something like this happens to your already not great Main specc and it kinda takes motivation out of playing at all for a lot of people. and yes, I know that in the top top percentages BM was doing good single target, very aware of that, but for the average player in raids of equal ilvl, we are still getting outpaced a lot. These is absolutely terrible changes.
Blizzard must revisit this all and provide additional buffs to both ST and AOE for BM hunters.

Not since Legion, not since one of our beloved and favored specs got trashed and BM actually CONSENTED to it. From WoD to Leg it went from a 3-spec to a 1-spec, because MM only became a slightly more serious joke than SV but was minimally mained by the class community. You’re free to do your own forum history research. After 4 expansions RSV is finally eclipsing MSV, but with Classic and SoD delivering a vastly superior SV Hunter experience, I dunno…
It has always been about BM, or rather La Cosa Beastmaestrosa. Haven’t you read what others here said?
I actually didn’t think this was going to happen. I thought BM was still going to be on top LIKE they were since 2016. We like to think it’s reversible and it could be, but you should have seen how Leg SV irreversibly WRECKED this class. So don’t tell me how we’re all Hunters here. That’s not something a Leg-era Hunter would tell me on the street, nor do I expect NOT to hear.
You got on board too early to see how we got past all that in Retail, because it remains to be seen how much house Microsoft’s got to clean out. It does feel like ancient history at this point, but some things die hard. Edit: To think of how much time flew, by the time Midnight comes out, Legion would be a whopping TEN years old. Think about what became of the Hunter class in the latter 10 of those 22 years. Who here even mained the class since Legion?
Indeed, this class really sucked during the bygone Borrowed Power age. The most laughable melee DPS ever, and in the face of still-honorable Mages and Warlocks, Balance because Druid has never been bad, Elems having a silent S Tier quality, and even the lowly SPriests, Markses would also be the most laughable RDPS.
I’m just saying my dude, you’re in a post-nuclear apocalypse here where BM spec became the Master and “his” super mutant army. I made a post about this somewhen earlier this year.

Great work Blizz. Crazy nerfs. Who makes these calls and thinks its a good idea to make the spec probably the worst in the game after these nerfs get applied?
Remove Basilisk Collar, buff all BM damage by 35%. Yes, that’s how poorly tuned BM is. How did Blizzard mess this spec up by so much?

This is makes me really sad. I only just recently changed from mm back to bm. Looks like I will have to go back to mm!
I don’t understand why they would nerf a class/spec that according to DPS logs lags behind most others and actually needs to be buffed. How could you look at the weekly DPS rankings and think this needed to be nerfed. I don’t get it.
How are Blizzard so bad at modelling amd understanding changes?
BM needs an aura buff in the area of 10%, not just 4% to pets.
Beast Cleave and Kill Cleave need a base duration increase to 8s (up from 6s) now additional abilities are in the rotaion.
That is just for the Oct 9 patch.
For 11.0.5 additional work is needed.
Pack Leader also needs major reworks.
Pack Assault needs to be moved off triggering from Call of the Wild and instead should be “During Bestial Wrath your Dire Beasts will now obey your Kill Command and can benefit from Beast Cleave and Kill Cleave”
Moreover the reduction in frequency of Barbed Shot casts being built in to the spec with the increased duration and recharge cooldown needs to be compensated.
There will be fewer Stomps, fewer War Orders resets, and most notable less Bestial Wrath uptime due to fewer Barbed Wrath procs.
Damage needs to be increased to make up the difference and to bring us into line with other specs.
Why is the patch on the 9th? Dont patches usually happen on weekly reset days? Which would be the 8th…
Please do not push these BM changes live! At least increase the compensatory buffs to pet damage or kill command. Basilisk caller needed to be tuned down but not at such a huge cost to our single-target damage, which is all we have right now…
I just dont understand how BM was king S4 in DF, and now its complete garbage… seriously need a blue post to chime in here…
Makes absolutely zero sense to me why a nerf like this would happen in the middle of a tier. Majority of players are still progressing towards AOTC or CE and these types of nerfs all but invalidate BM as a viable spec in ANY content. As a result, everyone who has spent the last several weeks simming and gearing to play BM are now sitting high and dry asking “Why?”, Myself included.
I think we deserve at least some sort of Dev response or clarification here.
