A change blatantly made from a (and I usually hate this term) “privileged” US perspective. Have you US located devs ever truly had any idea how garbage an experience it is when OC players have to play on US/EU servers?
This has been happening for like 10+ years on retail wow arena. AUS players still get Glad.

Hello. can you please provide more information concerning the side affects of such a change, as it seems from the response to this thread Oceanic players are being unfairly excluded from an equal playing field in terms of network performance.

Unplayable is a strong word, yes. But people react with wording like this because it’s a significantly noticeable degradation in playability, even if it’s technically still “playable”. Especially knowing you’re talking to US devs who are likely used to low latency.
I’m American and have been playing on OCE servers for over 10 years.
250ping is barely even noticeable.
There is no exaggeration, this is not a hyperbolic statement, the game is literally unplayable given that everything around an oceanic player has a literal advantage over you with these game breaking changes, a reality which is compounded in any competitive environment.
Blizzard 2021… When you stand on the shoulders of giants, and suck the life out of everything they ever stood for.

This is a good change cause it gives us a chance for some real competition.

I can EASILY tell the difference between 30ms and about 150ms. My shadowsteps into saps, CS etc, gouges, peeling, looting… everything feels instantaneous and silky smooth at 30ms… At 150ms or so there is an OBVIOUS delay. It’s not “unplayable”, it’s just SAD to be playing at that latency in 2021 when we shouldn’t have to. We weren’t two days ago. We are now.
If you seriously can barely tell the difference at 250ms… you definitely don’t see reaction times and timing of abilities as important… therefore not a serious player by any means.

There are tons of outstanding players on OCE, you don’t need a merger to help get quality games.
I’d say you get quite the opposite actually because now your CC and peels are on delay so your healer or DPS partner is DED.
