I was so keen to play PvP in TBC.
Now I’m extremely saddened and disappointed.
The PvP in classic was a grind, sure, but it was also incredible and insanely fun. Low ping, queueing into enemy teams that you recognise, and being able to choose between being honourable or not on your own team, made it rewarding past just the gear.
Queuing into or with some of the top teams during ranking (Geospark, Ullic, Corpsemilk or alliance He, Pounced, Shifthappenz etc) or the huge politics surrounding the system just made it more of a community based thing which is what retail lacks (among a huge amount of other things).
Smaller pings meant that skill was much more of a factor over lag, and 300 ping in absolutely unacceptable for PvP, especially arena. A broken product is also cause for people to ask for refunds but that’s another story.
This is an immense blindsight on your Oceanic player base. Who has time and time again shown how loyal they are and how passionate they are ( remember when you removed layers and the queues were more than 5000 people long?).
I was extremely excited for pvp in TBC. As were a lot of people I know.
Matching us against American players on American servers won’t fix the problem. It will remain the same because Oceanic PvP players will either completely unsubscribe, or just won’t PvP anyway, resulting in the exact same problem your poor US horde players have.
You added in pay for convenience, you added in mounts that didn’t even exist, charge rediculous amounts to allow us to play our characters other than just on TBC and now you completely ruin Oceanic PvP.
What the hell is your problem? Honestly? The player base deserves to know.
It’s 2021. You don’t play games with 300 ping. Stop being the joke of the gaming world. Seriously.
