No I see that. I just doubt blizzard would do it in a way where they don’t somehow fumble the bag and it doesn’t create lag still when AU people join your “shared instance” despite the claim it would be NA seeded. We have no concept on how their technology works under the hood and I doubt it wouldn’t be affected.
For all we know the NA BGs could just be NA seeded but for some weird reason on their networking it causes issues for all NA users in the BG. These are things we don’t know for sure how they work because none of us work at the blizzard team to know.
That’s how your battlegrounds work right now though ? we join NA battlegrounds and are put on your servers as oceanic players so if you had lag you’d know it by now.
We are asking blizzard to give us an option where if we wanna go into a dungeon or a raid as say a 5 man oceanic group or 20 man oceanic raid then we just use an oceanic server.
If we group with NA we get put on NA ping and if you wanna group with us and we host the instance then you will get the lag and since most keep saying the 200 latency is a non issue then it should also be a non issue for you.
The way it currently works from my understanding is the first person to join the battleground seeds the instance that’s why sometimes you will join a battleground and be put onto oceanic and then you play on 200+ms.
The fact you complain about that saying you don’t want the lag is the exact same thing we are saying as well why should an entire region be forced to play everything with 200+ms with a paid subscription ? The answer is we shouldn’t
That is why we keep asking blizzard to give us a workable solution that won’t lag you but also won’t force us to lag and most of oceanic wouldn’t be up in arms about this if we simply had the option to play with other oceanic players on a oceanic seeded server elminates 90% of the issue and then we just have to cop the NA world ping unless they have a cool solution for that with some kind of layer/crossrealm tech or something.
Overall we would be happy with any solution that either helps oceanic as a region or allows us to do dungeons/raids with oceanic ping when grouped with oceanic players.
So then imagine what you’re whole mega server’s lag will be like when a heap more OCE players are permanently on it, if you think lag is caused by the presence of OCE players then ask Blizzard to not kill Shadowstrike(AU) and open transfers to it as a destination realm instead so that OCE players who rolled elsewhere either out of ignorance or because they watched what happed in SoM and anticipated Blizzard’s antipathy with this can see Blizzard is supporting OCE this time and come home making our population more viable.
I dont think its caused by the players themselves but the servers connecting, the lag should only be present for AU players only now. As it should be. Id rather they didnt let you join at all, nor share any instances with us.
The way I think it works for BGs is the first person to accept the queue has the BG hosted in their region. Assuming OCE players stick to raiding together due to timezones, this shouldn’t affect your raiding experience at all.
We are all pessimistic about whether blizz is willing to implement it but it seems possible so we at least deserve an answer. If we’re too small to cater for even if we’re paying customers then tell it to us straight.
Blame the American developers who keep making 2 oceanic servers even when we don’t have the pop for 2.
Blame them for banning gdkp’s which damaged the population and all there other poor decisions that progresively eroded the playerbase.
If we had 1 single oceanic server from the beginning and gdkp’s werent banned we’d have a populated healthy server and this wouldn’t even be a thing.
They’ve repeated this same mistake in SOM they don’t seem to learn its not our fault we continually try to tell them to stop making 2 oceanic servers and they keep doing it.
