[OCE] OK, really though - let's merge OCE back into a US battlegroup

Bruh, you literally only play 5s for points.

Season 4 you are 1164 rating with a w/l of 3-21 in your team.

Season 3 1151 rating with w/l of 10-21.

Please tell me how 200 ping will make you any less of an absolute garbage player?

It does for Arena, BG ping is irrelevant. You are almost certainly worse than the cheapest PvP bot someone can find.

We’re spinning the wheel here, aren’t we?

I doubt they’ll listen to ya’ll again.
When Blizz did do it, you guys had such a massive outcry
that they reverted the change almost instantly.
Never seen them do that before lmao.
Pay or perish.

god i wish i could find that old post and see if anyone so outspoken still plays TBC…

I wasn’t outspoken, but I was for OCE only battlegroup. My desire wasn’t driven by lower ping, but by the community aspect of competing against players in our own region.

However, I did not expect some abysmally low participation rates. I expected everyone and their dog to do min 10 games a week, and on alts when they levelled them too. Welfare epics at the end of the season should have been a big drawcard.

Blizzard deciding to make teams start at zero instead of 1500 put a lot of typically lower ranked players off. That, and the problems honor grinding early on killed arena in OCE and it hasn’t really recovered - despite recent boosts to honor point and arena point games. The ship has sailed.

As I mentioned, my teams are all just at or above 1800 or so. I watch equivalent rated teams in EU and US and they are terribad. It is just that they have double or more the participation rate, hence their ratings are inflated and ours are not.

Give us US battlegroups and implement a system where it will queue you into local servers where possible to alleviate as much of the ping issues as possible.

I do so there is that.

+1 for this, not only is such a small battlegroup bad for player experience, the under-inflated pool means breakpoints on gear for people getting up there is harder to reach.
1800 oce for a trinket is a lot harder than in an inflated pool such us 1800 NA.
Achievements in wotlk too, arena master needs 2200 in 5s, thats gotta be rank 1 in oce or close to it at this point.

You’re a beanbag calibre player on OCE servers, something tells me ping isn’t your biggest issue.

Rampage spec btw

please blizzard don’t make the same mistake you did earlier

It seems the OCE playerbase needs to short this out between themselves before they ask blizzard. If there was a large outcry that they reverted it (That’s insane Blizzard almost never re-acts at all yet alone that quickly.) You Aussie’s may be in trouble. There’s a ton of U.s Guilds for your time if you play on high servers or the mega ones. But I don’t think blizzard is the type to re-go back on the word again. But who know’s worlds wild.

I was super against it, spammed threads saying it wont work but the stupid mongs who can’t muster a single brain cell between the lot of them, thought people would play TBC PvP.

Honestly TBC PvP is bad, it’s solved and super unbalanced. OCE would struggle even if it was good let alone bad.

Their mistake was listening to people like you. You have literally been 1k rated throughout classic, why should Blizzard or anyone that gives a damn about arena listen to you?

I’ve said it before and I’ll continue to say it - anyone who has loved arena throughout the years and wanted to improve and reach their goals were able to on US ping. The tiny percentage of idiots like you have proven it doesn’t matter if you’re on local servers or not, you will stay garbage.

If it was as big of an issue as you’re crying about why to this day do OCE players achieve glad and rank 1 on higher ping? Because they enjoy and care about the game.

Why should such a large demographic suffer or have to abandon their friends on these servers just to have enjoyable games and better competition to keep monkeys like you happy who could be on 0 ping and get farmed?

It absolutely boggles my mind.

Guys if you’re getting more than 150ms on US servers your internet is garbage. I’m on Wireless NBN in Tassie and my ping on US never goes above 180. We’re not in 2008 anymore, connections are better.

And let’s face it, unless you’re pushing very high ratings that split second difference isn’t going to make that big of a difference. Chances are you’re not losing a 1400 game because a spell cast 0.3 seconds later than normal.

i seriously do not want to play vs lagging players.

its everyone vs like 3 people who dont pvp and 1 who does but is just mad stubborn…

it’s bloody hard to hit 1850 with everyone playing 5s and such a small playerbase that the ratings are deflated into the ground… starting @ 0 with no players and MMR ranging from so low was a bad move… start teams @ 0 but not let points go down till 1-1.5k

You are posting this opinion from a character that you have leveled to level 40 on Earthen Ring, a non-pvp RP server on the US retail realms.

It’s a bit hard to take you seriously.

People in the Oceanic region live in more then just Australia

Yes, and they all have better internet than we do. What’s your point?
